Really happy to finally meet Prof @brutherfb, and in my beloved Lagos too.
Walking around @Carleton_U in Ottawa a few weeks ago, I kept thinking how different the trip would have felt if my friend @pius_adesanmi were still with us. Less than a month later, I meet someone Pius spoke so highly of that I quickly followed him on Twitter.
Pius, I love meeting people who really knew you. Every new story of your generosity is a comfort. I miss you.

Congratulations are in order! 🎉 We're thrilled to announce that @sjonyems of University of Cambridge has been awarded the prestigious @WennerGrenOrg Dissertation Fieldwork Grant.
Stanley's PhD research explores the relationship between cultural heritage and the legacies of the Nigeria-Biafra war (1967-1970) as it pertains to the Igbo community in southeastern Nigeria. Employing a multifaceted approach that combines historical, archival, ethnographic, and collaborative research, Stanley aims to shed light on the impact of the Nigeria-Biafra war on both the material and immaterial heritage of the Igbo people.
His work not only contributes significantly to anthropological discussions on conflict and heritage but also uncovers the transformative potential of heritage in (post-)conflict scenarios. These include aspects like identity regeneration, memorialization, resilience, survival, and peacebuilding.
Join us in celebrating Stanley’s remarkable achievement! 🙌 #WennerGren #DissertationFieldworkGrant #NigerianArchaeologyGist #CulturalHeritage #IgboCulture #ConflictHeritage #peacebuilding

Chike Ibezim was 20 days ago unlawfully arrested in Abuja by the men of Nigerian Police. His arrest was linked to Babatunde Fashola who claimed he was defamed by Chike Ibezim brother's media platform, the Reportera News. #FreeChikeIbezim
Retweet till Chike Ibezim is set free!
Tonight, my flight into Toronto couldn’t land because of the bad weather. The pilot kept trying to land at Pearson Airport several times but kept failing as the plane was in turbulence because of the storm. Passengers were panicking, some crying, others telling their kids
Yesterday, we held a Prize Giving ceremony at Roseville School, Enugu, for one of our winners at the Young and Engaged Speaker Series.
Kamsiyọchukwu Nnamani had emerged winner of the Akpọọ Asupee category of the competition held in December 2022 and it was fulfilling for her
On being mistreated abroad, Kenya's President @WilliamsRuto says,
"We have made a decision that it is not intelligent for 54 of us to go and seat before one gentleman from another place, and sometimes, we are mistreated. We are loaded into buses like school kids. It is not right"
Prince Nico Mbarga’s “Sweet Mother” has sold more copies than “Macarena.”
And even The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand”.
But chances are, especially if you’re not Nigerian, you’ve never heard of him.
Until now.
His rollercoaster-of-a-life story:
Blessed indeed, it seems.
Nico catches fire.
He and his new group, “Rocafil Jazz” play the Sunday night gig every week at Onitsha’s Plaza Hotel and by 1973, Nico is signed by record company EMI, where he releases his new highlife-inspired single:

An excellent discussion on why Carleton’s Contract Instructors (and Teaching Assistants) are on strike - @Carleton_U needs to come back with a much better offer to @cupe4600 !
In an election marked by the late arrival of materials, violent attacks, and reports of rigging substantiated by international observers, it is unfortunate that @inecnigeria prioritised declaring a winner over addressing the concerns of Nigerians.
This is disappointing & unwise.
The crude election rigging in Rivers State under the semi literate thug @GovWike hits a new low!
227 voted for @NgLabour was crudely cut to 27, with the remaining 200 then added to the APC's 17, giving them a "victory" of 217 votes in Oro-Igwe unit of Obio/Akpor LGA!
What #thuggery caused in #Surulere where I've been following #elections: quoting #violent incidents, @inecnigeria cancelled 20 polling unit results (see 3 lists) with a total of 12,955 registered voters. The difference in Surulere between #Tinubu and 2nd runner up #Obi: 2,079.
I’m already used to threats!
I have a record of all threats I have received, I also have recorded calls and messages of Powerful politicians and their children that have ever reached out to me!!!
I always said NO!
Because as long as I still dey, There shall be NO COMPROMISE!!!
Dear Nigerian citizens,
You humbled Peter Obi with plenty votes. We will use our intelligence, creativity, technology and social media to collate the results as seen and recorded by citizens.
We got this people!
