NEW: Man dies on a Royal Caribbean cruise after being served 33 drinks, family accuses cruise staff of injecting him with a sedative.
35-year-old Michael Virgil was seen having a meltdown after getting off the elevator on the wrong floor.
The family says just hours after leaving the port, Virgil was served excessive amounts of alcohol.
When he went to look for his room, he got agitated when he couldn't find it and started chasing people.
Crew members eventually had to intervene, allegedly using pepper spray and a sedative called Haloperidol, at the request of the ship's captain.
He then suffered from a cardiopulmonary arrest.
Virgil's family is seeking damages.
"We are seeing an incredibly alarming number of serious injuries and fatalities on cruise ships of late," said attorney Kevin Haynes.

He is Sam Pepper, a well-known influencer in the UK.
He came to India on Diwali and fired a rocket toward a group of kids, hitting a little girl. Because it was livestreamed, he couldn’t delete the footage, and his followers openly criticised him for the reckless act and expressed concern for the child.
He later claimed that the girl had only a minor cut, that he paid for the hospital expenses, apologised, and that the matter was settled. He immediately left India after that. However, the truth is coming out now.
The girl did not suffer a minor cut but permanent damage to her left eye, full-thickness corneal injury with uveal tissue prolapse. She lost her eye because a gora streamer wanted to have “reckless fun.” The Indians who feel “ashamed as an Indian” the moment some gora experiences the slightest discomfort here should now see how many gora feel “ashamed as a British” for this.
Requesting @MEAIndia to take up this issue officially with the UK govt. This incident must have serious legal and financial repercussions for that influencer.
It fucking rocks that the release of the Epstein Files — which may or may not confirm that the President of the United States is a child rapist — depends largely on a congresswoman who was documented giving some guy a handjob at a Beetlejuice musical
Yes, that is my forearm post match at the Naga grappling jiu jitsu tournament in Miami last weekend.
I will let the bite marks speak for themselves. 🎥 @ivan_bezdomny
Occurred while opponent was flat on her stomach.
Opponent is a brown belt, who is also about 20 pounds bigger than me. (am only mentioning that because I got the strong impression she fancied herself a bully, and I love beating up bullies).
For the record, she was 100% unapologetic and said she did not do it on purpose. Amazing that this does not happen more often, if it can happen by accident.
This was a one-sided match, I controlled it from the takedown. She was disqualified when I got up and the ref saw my arm. He may ref was a professional and handled this very well. He called over the head ref, who when he saw my arm said "what the f* is that?"
Thankfully my arm is much better today.
And yes, I have had many messages about rabbis shots 🤦🏻♀️
Nevertheless, this was a good experience. And as intended, a good tune-up for ADCC trials next weekend.
Thank you everyone for the messages 🙏🫶🙏
