We know applications have bern made on the FECP behalf but no response has been received. We need our voices heard @Kathleensf1@MaryLouMcDonald small and medium services are closing. No funding to pay staff wages or holiday pay for Christmas @LeoVaradkar@rodericogorman
@MurphyDunne - it looks like GPs are in a similar position to Early Years, except of course; they are being offered extra payments for the additional work.
We're expected to do more work, with less funding, and do it with a smile!
OUT IN FORCE in January!
ECCE services where left with empty bank accounts over Christmas. Someone in the Dcediy must be made accountable for failing these service providers. @Toibin1@LeoVaradkar we need to work together to resolve these issues urgently. The department are in denial of the issues.
We are meeting our minister on Monday afternoon for discussion around the viability of small and medium services. We are hopeful for a good out come. Minister we can only hope you are not going to waste our time and that you will put real solutions on the table. @rodericogorman
We delivered 5 boxes of letters from providers who have signed up to Core Funding under duress to @mmcgrathtd@LeoVaradkar@Paschald@MichealMartinTD@Toibin1 we are asking that you address these providers before budget. €76 capitation rise per ECCE child at cost €30m.
ECCE services left high and dry also have to contend with calendar misalignment - meaning their costs start before Core Funding even kicks in. Ridiculous.
Providers are frustrated at the new application for Core Funding. It a total mess. Not only are ECCE services closing because ofCF but it is impossible to complete the application if you want to apply for CF. What is going on who designed this fiasco. @rodericogorman please help
€30m towards ECCE would:
🏊♀️Raise capitation to €76
🏊♀️Help small providers pay ERO wages
🏊♀️Benefit 90% of all services nationwide (including Part time and Full Day Care)
🏊♀️Prevent some closures
🏊♀️Start to address the CF anomaly
🏊♀️Help to stabilise ECCE
TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
Join us For the ECCE funding protest on Wednesday, the 13th of July at 11:30 am outside Leinster house followed by a short March to the @dcediy. All stakeholders are encouraged to attend. We must support each other #YesToFairCorefunding#ItCouldBeYouNext@rodericogorman
Tusla website shows a decline in registered services. Why is it so hard for people to believe that inflation has brought parts of the sector to an inflection point. And why would those services be happy with a deal that doesn't offer a dignified return for an owner?
Today the FECP are meeting our minister to discuss the Core Funding for ECCE services. Our surveys and data should give the department a clear insight into what the reality is on the ground and how CF has failed the ECCE service providers and staff @FederationEarly@WhitmoreJen
One of the main concerns with CF is educator expectation. 30k Educators expected a pay rise, They were told they would get one. CF has been allocated in a way that if you work in an ECCE service you are unlikely to see a pay increase in 22/23. Apparently you are paid too much!
The amount of services contacting me directly to say they are closing in the next years is unreal. We are going to have an even bigger issue for parents trying to find places. 8 in South Dublin alone.Minister ECCE services have been left out of core funding WHY. @rodericogorman
ECCE services are the looser’s with this Core Funding. You think breaking even is ok. Well it isn’t. It is going to damage businesses and it will close small services in the coming year. Why are you not addressing our concerns @rodericogorman
So this is what is going on. Meanwhile ECCE service small and medium are getting ready to close doors. @rodericogorman @dcediy @Paschald @mmcgrathtd
