📍90 years ago today, their greatest enemy, my great-grandfather, King Alexander I, was assassinated by joint fascists, Nazis, and communists.

For over 15 years, he thwarted the plans of these dark ideologies, striving to save his nation and society from their shadow, which was slowly but surely engulfing the entire continent.

As a victor of the Great War and a knight, he stood resolutely and courageously in defence of European values, at a time when few others dared to do so.

While he was among his own people, on his own soil, they could not harm him. It was only when he went to his allies, seeking to strengthen the front and encourage the fight against these forces, that he became vulnerable.

Even today, the veil of mystery surrounding his assassination has not been lifted. The question is not who pulled the trigger, but who allowed him to be killed? Who sacrificed him? Who paid the price with the blood of our King? This question remains unanswered by our allies and friends.

This event triggered a wave that changed the world, as these dark ideologies, emboldened by the death of their greatest adversary, proceeded to devour nations, peoples, and cultures.

It is not the first time that the best among us have given their lives to protect Europe and its values, but it must be the last time their sacrifice goes unrecognised by Europeans.

To prevent history from repeating itself, we must be aware of it, for the shadow of communism and its dark legacy still looms over us.

Our capital still lacks a monument to King Alexander, his sacrifice continues to be traded, and the “truths” of his enemies are still repeated as definitions and principles.

This must be stopped, and things must be called by their proper names. A democratic society cannot be guided by the rules of a totalitarian regime. The first step is to erect a monument in honour of his life and legacy.

I cannot stress enough the importance of taking this first step, which we, as his descendants, are duty-bound to make.

Eternal glory to him, and our deepest gratitude for setting a true example of leadership!
