Anni @MohamedNasheed received every opportunity MDP offered: Chairperson (2005), Party President, 2008 ticket (won and resigned mid-term), 2013 ticket (lost), 2018 ticket (disqualified), Parliament Speaker (2019), MDP Advisor (2026). He enjoys former President’s benefits since 2012. He admitted he “got ALL the opportunities in MDP and made MOST of the mistakes.”
Despite all this showed no loyalty. After losing 2023 primary he formed a new party, contributed to the 2023/2024 election defeats of both parties, left for a job in Ghana, and to this day has offered no apology to the members whose unity and trust he fractured.
Now aged 58, he is back contesting for MDP Chairperson against the new young generation, while also wanting to be head of state again in the next MDP government.
After two decades of every sacrifice the party made for him, one man still blocking youth leadership. Youth are 45% of voters by 2028! Honest reflection is now unavoidable.
We are focused on one thing — winning with integrity and purpose.
We will not be distracted by false news spread through fake social media accounts. Misinformation is the last refuge of those who fear the people’s voice. Our community is aware. And our community knows the truth.
The primary results delivered a clear message: political weight is earned, not imagined—and refusing to accept defeat only exposes weakness, not strength.
