Sinologist, Cartoonist, Whovian, linguist, teacher, sf fan, actor, philatelist, in no particular order. Author of "Space to Create in Chinese Science Fiction."

And while I'm at it, seeing as it's #smallpressday, check out Space to Create in Chinese Science Fiction, which compares the historical development of SF in the West & in China and compares the works of three important SF authors from the 60s to the 2000s

@SR_Historian Interestingly enough I was talking with my students about the Time magazine man of the year in an English lesson this morning. The question came up about former chosen men of the year awards - don't you know that Chiang Kai-shek as well as Madame Soong once had the 'honour.'
Merry #Christmas to one and all!
It's become my custom over the last few years to create my own Christmas cards - This year, I've passed that job over to #AI (in preparation of welcoming our new #robot_overlords! #Resistance_is_futile!)
@PatMillsComics I re-released "Space to Create" and I had exactly the same problem when checking https://t.co/YMmhZtnHLF from here in Germany. It worked fine with the .de country code though.
But what is interesting, is that I had no such problems with "Ratl and Roll" -
There is still time to sign up for my in-person class on science fiction at Imperial College, open to all levels of familiarity with the genre and cultural scholarship. Last time I had PhD students, retirees, current undergrads and MAs, and working professionals.
@awhspeed @SapphireLally @aussiastronomer Inter is from Latin meaning between (if I remember correctly!)
Internet - the net between servers around the world.
International travel etc...
Intra - within
Intranet - only the employees within an organisation can access it.
The reason we celebrate Te Wiki o Te reo Māori around the 14th of September each year is because that's the date the petition to allow te reo to be spoken in schools was delivered to parliament in 1972. Without these reo champions we wouldn't have a te reo Māori anything 💙
