This is divorced from reality. I understand criticism of Hegseth on matters of personnel and priorities. I like most of what he has done but I understand why there is opposition. Criticism of the military execution of the Iran war makes no sense. @CENTCOM forces destroyed the vast majority of Iranian military capacity, the military of a nation with 90 million people and vast oil wealth, with the loss of less than 20 US service members. It was as effective a military campaign as exists in the history of warfare. Whether or not the military achievements were effective in achieving political aims is an open question. The blockade and sanctions may yet be successful. To say Cooper deserves anything other than a DSM and our thanks is to ignore the entire history of warfare. To hold Hegseth accountable for the President’s political decisions on balancing war goals with economic and political goals is also counter historical. The standard cannot be total victory at zero cost or we fire our 4 star officers.

Ignore the fake posts claiming to show what the mess decks on aircraft carriers look like.

These ships have two crew mess decks—forward and aft on the second deck. There are also wardrooms for officers and a separate mess for E-7 and above (Chiefs). None of them feature cinder-block construction. For those of you in the back: ships are built of steel.

Food service on a ship the size of an aircraft carrier is a monumental operation that runs 24/7 when the ship is at sea. Even when flight ops aren’t happening, the galleys keep going.

I’m former Navy and spent a lot of my time on carriers. In all those years, I can honestly say I never had a meal like the ones the fake news is claiming were served. Sure, some meals were better than others, and the food could get monotonous after a long stretch at sea. But I ate well in the Navy. You could get something to eat nearly 24 hours a day, not to mention the snacks and sodas from the geedunk machines.

These images are exactly what mess decks look like. If you’re even remotely buying the fake news reports about the USS Lincoln, you need to check yourself and question your own judgment.

The gunman was in the hallway.
It was April 16, 2007. A Monday morning. Solid mechanics class at Virginia Tech, Room 204. Twenty-two students, most of them 19 or 20 years old.
At 9:45 AM, gunshots echoed through Norris Hall. Room by room, the shooter was working his way down the corridor.
Liviu heard it. He understood immediately.
He had survived the Holocaust. He had survived a labor camp. He had spent decades living under Communist oppression. He knew exactly what evil sounded like.
He told his students to escape through the windows. Second floor — it was a drop, but they'd survive. Then he walked to the door and held it shut with his body.
The shooter tried to force it open. It wouldn't move.
He fired through the door. Wood splintered. Bullets came through.
Liviu stayed.
Behind him, students were climbing out the windows. Dropping to the ground. Running. One by one, all twenty-two of them got out.
The shooter kept firing through the door.
Liviu held it shut until every student was safe.
Then the bullets killed him.
When police arrived, they found his body at the door.
All 22 of his students survived. Not one was injured.
Liviu Librescu was born on August 18, 1930, in Ploiești, Romania.
He was Jewish. In 1941, when he was eleven years old, Romanian authorities sent him and his family to a labor camp. His father died there. Liviu survived. When the war ended, he was fifteen.
He went back to school. Studied engineering. Earned a doctorate from the University of Bucharest.
But Communist Romania had no interest in allowing a Jewish intellectual to succeed. He was blocked from academic positions. Passed over for jobs he deserved. He applied to emigrate. The government kept refusing.
Finally, in 1978 when Liviu was 48 years old — Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin personally intervened. Romania let him go.
He had spent most of his adult life trapped in a country that didn't want him.
In Israel, he taught at Tel Aviv University. Published over 300 papers. Became an international expert in aeroelasticity — the science of how air flows over aircraft wings.
In 1985, Virginia Tech offered him a position. He moved to Blacksburg, Virginia. He taught there for 22 years. His students loved him — demanding but kind, high standards, genuine care.
He was still teaching full-time at 76. Still publishing research. Still showing up every Monday morning for solid mechanics.
April 16 was the first day of Passover — the Jewish holiday celebrating liberation from slavery and oppression.
Liviu Librescu died on the day his tradition sets aside to celebrate freedom.
He spent his entire life escaping death and oppression by luck, by persistence, by the intervention of others. And on his last morning, he chose to stand at a door so that twenty-two young people could have the future he had fought so hard to reach.
He could have run. He could have hidden. He could have climbed out a window with his students.
He chose to stay.
The Virginia Tech shooting killed 32 people that day — the deadliest school shooting in American history at the time.
Room 204 had zero casualties.
Because a 76-year-old Holocaust survivor held a door with his body until every student behind him was gone.
His funeral was held in Israel. Students from Virginia Tech flew across the ocean to honor him. The Israeli government awarded him the Star of David Medal posthumously. Virginia Tech named a scholarship in his memory.
His son said his father died the way he lived — protecting others.
A man who survived everything evil threw at him for 76 years.
On his last day, he made sure 22 kids survived too.

Holocaust survivor. Labor camp survivor.
302 published papers. 22 years at Virginia Tech.
22 students out the window.
He held the door.

A jury convicted Karmelo Anthony of murder for stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf to death. Evidence was presented. Witnesses testified. Self-defense was rejected. He got 35 years.
That’s not a “legal lynching.” That’s justice.

Crying racism because the killer is Black and the victim was White doesn’t change the facts: actions have consequences.
Austin is dead. His family grieves. The system worked.

Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren

She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements.

Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service.

JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes.

The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%.

For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%.

Warren said no.

She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024.

Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year.

Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug.

510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December.

14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight.

And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms.

Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back.

40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market.

And the math ain’t mathing.

Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%.

That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.”

So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money?

Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years.

Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do.

Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.”

A win.

14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight.

And she’s taking credit.

This is socialism in 2026.

A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company.

She saved you a billion on imaginary paper.

She cost you ten times that in real life.

The framing wants you to feel outrage at the cruelty of the cuts.

But the actual data point buried in the story is devastating to the narrative it's trying to build.

272k for a senior VP at a USAID-funded nonprofit is not a real salary. It's a subsidy. That job existed inside a closed loop: taxpayer money flows to USAID, USAID funds NGOs, NGOs hire professionals at inflated rates, those professionals build lives around compensation that was never stress-tested against the open market.

The entire salary was a function of proximity to the spigot. Not output. Not value creation. Not demand for her specific skills.

The $19/hour number isn't the system being cruel. It's the system being honest for the first time. The market is saying: without the government funding stream, your skills at 57 command 39k. That's the real price. The 272k was the fiction.

And here's what nobody in that thread will say: there are tens of thousands of people in the DC metro area alone sitting in exactly this position right now. Government-adjacent professionals whose entire compensation structure was built on a funding model that is being unwound. Not by AI, not by automation, but by simple political reallocation. And the market is going to reprice every single one of them.

The deeper pattern is that an entire class of professional jobs in America were never real market jobs. They were artifacts of institutional spending that created its own employment ecosystem. Government, corporate middle management, DEI departments, compliance layers, consulting firms that exist to service other consulting firms. The whole structure was a series of jobs that existed because the money existed, not because the work needed doing at that price.

That structure is now being compressed from multiple directions simultaneously. AI from one side. Spending cuts from another. Corporate efficiency mandates from a third.

And the professional class that built its identity, its mortgages, its kids' tuitions, its retirement plans around those salaries is about to discover what the open market actually thinks they're worth.

That's the repricing. This woman is just the first photo to go viral.

NYC Mayor Mamdani announced on Sunday that his administration will build a city-run grocery store on city-owned land in East Harlem.

He says he “looks forward to the competition” of battling against corporations.

But what he’s failing to say is that small grocery stores, which need to make a profit to survive, will be the ones that suffer when faced with a city-run grocery store that isn’t necessarily funded by what it sells. It’s a lose/lose.

Other U.S. cities (and other countries) have tried to make city-run grocery stores work. They’ve all failed, so many don’t even try anymore.

Mayor Brandon Johnson in Chicago bailed on his plan to open city-run grocery stores after public criticism and feasibility concerns.

Some of the consistent problems with these kinds of grocery stores are long lines, shortages, lack of variety, outdated products, corruption, bad customer service, and inefficiency.

New York City also doesn’t really have a demand for these grocery stores. There are over 1,000 grocery stores already in NYC, most within walking distance.

The bigger stores have sophisticated systems and are able to negotiate lower prices by buying in volume. City-run stores can’t do this since there are always so few of them if any. So these stores end up operating at a loss and failing. It’s always the same result.

Mamdani is naive and will fail. He already has with almost everything he’s tried to do. Instead of coming up with new positive solutions or implementing old successful strategies, he’s going with old failed ideas.

Socialism has never worked. It never will.

For 125 years, a group of Catholic nuns in New York have run a FREE hospice called Rosary Hill Home. They take care of poor people dying from cancer no charge, ever. Just pure Christian charity.

Then Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a law a few years ago that forces EVERY nursing home to use preferred pronouns, house patients by gender identity (not biological sex), and let people into opposite-sex bathrooms and spaces.

The nuns said: “We treat everyone with dignity… but we can’t do that. It goes against our Catholic faith.”
So New York is now threatening them with $5,000–$10,000 fines per violation, loss of their license, and jail time.

These sisters who’ve spent their whole lives caring for the dying are being told: obey the gender rules or shut down.
