We're so excited to welcome Tina Tucker as the new CEO of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center! The U.S. Space & Rocket Center Commission voted today to appoint the longtime Huntsville resident and current president of Pinnacle Solutions (an Akima company) as the Center’s leader. 🚀
"Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby."
During his service with the Navy, astronaut Scott "Scooter" Altman doubled for Tom Cruise and other actors in F-14 flight scenes for the original Top Gun movie, released 40 years ago this week!
Altman didn't just buzz the traffic control tower once, he did it nine times to get the right take for the movie!
In honor of the 40th Anniversary re-release of Top Gun tomorrow, here's the "wrap photo" of the eight Tomcat crew who flew all of the aviation scenes in that movie...(I'm bottom right). Ultimate #TomcatTuesday 😎 LFG!
Celebrate Mother’s Day 2026 with a heartfelt message from Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant.
A special phone commercial from South Central Bell.
Happy Mother’s Day 2026!
Have you called your mother today?
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
What a magical afternoon at the Flora-Bama celebrating 10 years of @NoShoesRadio with @SiriusXM. Thanks to everyone for caring about the songs, the music and the experience of it all. Special thanks to @_MegMoroney for being there. You always light up the stage. Love you.

@TheresaLubowitz I was supposed to leave Rise in Integrity….but that was not something I was going to do. I stuffed that little guy in a dry bag we had in our survival kit and hooked the bag onto my pressure suit.
It's very moving to me that Commander Reid Wiseman, the last of the #ArtemisII astronauts to exit Integrity, made sure to bring the plushie Rise - and the 5 million names it carries - back with him immediately upon landing. Every one of those names completed the mission with him.
Orion’s crew and service module have separated. The crew module continues on its path towards Earth while the service module will harmlessly burn up in Earth’s atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The Artemis II return trajectory is designed to ensure any remaining debris does not pose a hazard to land, people, or shipping lanes.
@NASA has just released some EXTRAORDINARY tracking footage from Artemis II's launch just one week ago.
Mesmerizing exhaust flow interaction between all four RS-25's & twin SRB's.
The Artemis II crew named a lunar crater after Commander Reid Wiseman's late wife, Carroll. What a beautiful and touching moment.
I'm not crying, you're crying 🤧
