I was super surprised to see rules_xcodeproj able to run the core Rider app with no code changes - seeing debugger, indexing, sanitizers, tests, builds, & SwiftUI previews running all great was such a treat! 🎉https://t.co/7Z30VXlVKU
Support for both Bazel(BwB) and Xcode builds(BwX) is really cool.🙌🏼 It’s one of the top-notch quality open-source codebase that I have come across so far with such great support and test cases.
My iOS teammate @DanZimm has been affected by Spotify's layoffs. Dan is US-based and has also worked in Meta and Snap in the area of performance and lower-level infra. Absolutely brilliant engineer, if you know who's hiring, please help me connect him with them!
For every `as?` or `as!` in your app, Swift runtime executes a protocol conformance check. Did you know this is one of the slowest operations in Swift?
An app like @Uber has +100K conformance records
🧵How to easily speed up conformance checks by ~20% w/ no source code changes
I’m proud to say that we are sponsoring the MOLD linker project at @UberOpenSource on @github now at $1500/month. Congrats @rui314 !

Lyft iOS app is so great, polished, easy to use — I use it almost every day to book bikes — their team is super impressive and if you see anyone from Lyft apply at your work then you’re very lucky imo
Applications are now open for the Hacking with Swift Live diversity scholarship! Thanks to so many folks buying scholarship tickets, plus our generous sponsors, I have a huge batch of tickets to give away – all you need to do is email [email protected] to claim one.
Thank you so much to all the wonderful people involved in making #WWDC21 such an amazing and fun event!
Great sessions, super helpful 1:1 developer labs, and lounges!
Many congratulations to each team involved and all the Design Award winners! 🎉🙌
Looking forward to WWDC22 :)
@jensimmons Great video, Jen! Love the new Safari 15 - things naturally appearing when needed, easy to manage tab groups, visual intelligence features, the blending of the toolbar with the website’s preferred colour etc. is all really cool!
If you are interested in knowing why specific source files were compiled in the incremental build phase or why your incremental builds seem to be slow, this post has you covered - the compiler emits “remarks” explaining why it decided to compile specific files.
“Inclusion is as much of a process as design and development are.” Sessions enriched with best practices along with tips on how to deliver inclusive apps. Loved watching them and would highly recommend!
