@airmainengineer For visibility of run way during Take off and landing. It would require an additional set of maintenance check list in itself. Fun fact if the hydraulic system failed, just by delatching the locks, the nose would droop due to gravity allowing for safe landing.

@aviationbrk In my opinion, the chopper could not see the plane as it's nose was tilted downwards. And the rotar blades were in line of sight of the wings of the CRJ. The bright light of aircraft was facing the runway.
