The recent death of a snow leopard in Chitral is a stark reminder of how fragile this iconic species has become. Every loss brings the snow leopard closer to extinction. Habitat loss, climate change, and human–wildlife conflict continue to threaten its survival.
To address this, WWF-Pakistan is using AI-enabled camera systems to monitor snow leopard movements, provide early warnings to communities, and reduce retaliatory killings by preventing conflict before it happens.
Now is the time for communities, authorities, and conservation partners to come together to protect this rare symbol of our mountain ecosystems, before it is too late.

Pakistan is far closer to Central Asia than it often cares to admit. It is long past time for Islamabad to embrace the strategic benefits of these shared ties, @benazirmirsamad argues. https://t.co/NNSS4rJ7Qa

PM Shehbaz Sharif's directive to increase PIA flights to #GilgitBaltistan and even make arrangements for private airlines to operate on the GB route. great move to promote tourism in the region! I hope to see similar requests for Chitral from the @CSKPOfficial KP soon.
