@DrDavidKatz the results of this study are insane 🤯 so glad that there is more awareness being brought to the extent nutrition can prevent health issues! @beh353#beh353
@CavMac24@beh353 prevention is so important and nutrition does so much to help in that regards! I love that you’re looking forward to that part of your career. Good luck with finals and your profession, you got this!👏 @beh353#beh353
@beh353 Happy end of semester and thank you! I plan on incorporating nutrition in my career by listening to patients and listening to their needs and lifestyles to help them understand nutrition and better implement it in their lives!😷🍓 #beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you so much for providing this week’s information on nutrition! The slide about Vitamin C stood out to me because i actually take Emergen-Cs and never realized/knew that my body was hardly absorbing most of the packet 🤯🍊 @beh353#beh353
@WilliamJRipple@DrDavidKatz I’ve seen a lot lately about micro plastics in our food and even water and this is honestly scary because it makes me feel hopeless when confronting my health. In this regard, processed foods seem to be the only safe option but they’re also what will kill you🫨😔 @beh353#beh353
@Saribelv03@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 I also stick to oat milk so while it was slightly hard to see/hear, ignorance is definitely NOT bliss when it comes to your own health! I agree that this chart was a nice and needed addition📈🥛 @beh353#beh353
@DrDavidKatz Sodium is so important to keep an eye on in our diets. As someone who pretty regularly tracks my meals, it’s frustrating that most apps make you pay to see sodium and other micronutrients, since they’re still so significant! @beh353#beh353
@NutritionByJers@beh353 Hi Jersey! It was informative yet easy to read and it seems like it would be an awesome start to living a healthier lifestyle!🍎 @beh353#beh353
https://t.co/03VPrs85PP I would suggest this because it’s easier to read, explains the importance of a clean diet, provides suggestions for parents on how to rid of old habits, and even gives meal ideas. def a good start to a healthier lifestyle. @beh353#beh353
This week’s reading helped me to grasp the emotional affect obesity has on individuals rather than just the physical effects. What resonated with me in the reading is the quote about how the author had never conducted so many emotional (and painful) interviews.

@TamarHaspel when i worked in a Walgreens, we were back ordered of a lot of these drugs due to this new weight loss trend. However, it does so much damage to someone’s system who doesn’t actually need it for diabetes/blood sugar purposes @beh353#beh353
Are you on Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, etc. (the new GLP-1 weight-loss drugs)?
I'd love to hear about your experience for a column (I won't use names). Has it worked for you? Not? Has it changed how you feel about food, or about your body?

@oliviafleuryxo@beh353 Hi Olivia! I agree that this is important and my mom being a personal trainer she always told me that it’s important to know that not all “skinny” people are actually healthy- people’s genetics can handle unhealthy food in a way that still keeps them lean @beh353#beh353
One fact that I took away from this week’s materials is that obesity can cause gynecological problems. I recently read a study showing that woman need 9-10 hours opposed to a man’s 7-8. I think sleep should be considered essential factor in women’s health 🏋️♀️@beh353#beh353
@Dmozaffarian I really love to see this new mentality on what being healthy means- I feel as a society we are finally emerging out of diet culture as more helpful information like this is being spread. Quality always >>> Quantity! @beh353#beh353
@StarRaygoza@beh353 While I did know about most of the negative impacts lack of sleep can have on a person, this was surprising to me. It makes me wonder how much of the common “Freshman 15” is from unhealthy eating if students also begin bad sleeping habits when they get to college @beh353#beh353
