Most of the places we've lived over the past 15 years have been rural towns that have these kinds of farm stands. The stands are right outside someone's house. They're unmanned most of the time. You drive up, take what you want, and leave the money in a box. It's the kind of thing that simply could not exist in a third world country because it depends on a basic level of decency, honesty, and Christian neighborliness. The more we import the third world, the less we can depend on any of that.
