Millions of people are asking for your attention to the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Many of his supporters believe he has consistently spoken out about the persecution of Christians in parts of Nigeria and has called for the right of the people of the former Eastern Region to determine their political future through a peaceful referendum.

A peaceful call for self-determination or a referendum should not, by itself, be treated as a crime. We respectfully urge your administration to encourage respect for due process, human rights, and the rule of law.

There are continuing concerns raised by his supporters and human rights advocates regarding his transfer from Kenya to Nigeria, which they describe as an extraordinary rendition, his prolonged detention, and the fairness of the legal proceedings against him. These issues deserve careful international attention and an impartial legal process.

Many people in Eastern Nigeria also continue to express concerns about political and economic marginalisation and believe these grievances require dialogue, justice, and equal treatment under the law.

This is the sad reality facing us.

In the next 15 years, these three Igbo students who went to Rome and conquered the world will not be allowed to head NNPC, the Central Bank, the Army, Immigration, Customs, or be a Nigerian president. Rather, there will be a Yoruba or a Northerner who did not score up to 120 in JAMB who will be placed above him. And will always be retired to make way for a Northerner or Yoruba.

The Igbo will always excel in education and still be meant to stay under those he is better than.

Do you now understand why Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is insisting on the freedom of Biafra? Do you now understand why he chose to remain in prison for 5 years just to secure freedom for his people?

Can you ever compare Peter Obi and Tinubu? Or Goodluck and Buhari? Why is it that Peter Obi can't become president when he is better than Tinubu both morally and intellectually? That's the same thing we are talking about.

No matter how you fraternise with the government as an Igbo man or woman, you will still be treated the same as all of us.

So it is either you speak up, or you remain down.
