Earlier today, the Kakamega County CHMT team paid me a courtesy call for an inception meeting to introduce to me the new @tiko_explore Project @UNSDGWorld-DIB supported by @UNFPAKen, @WHOKenya and UNSDG. The partnership aims at tackling the Triple Threat in the County.

@BarasaFernandes The Governers Baraza. .hope the people know their expectations on how to participate fully. The office of public participation should be strengthened.
In line the good governance pillar of my six-point agenda, I held a public consultation forum at Matunda mall in Nzoia ward, Likuyani Sub-county, where I listened to valuable views of the residents on various issues. This forum is the first of many to be conducted in other Sub-counties.
A significant concern raised was the state of the healthcare sector in the Sub-county. We have placed a Ksh. 200 million order of drugs and non-pharmaceuticals to address this. We also plan to upgrade and equip various hospitals within the Subcounty.
Infrastructure, especially roads, was another prominent issue. To tackle this, we've allocated Ksh. 20 million to the ward development fund, which has begun its operations this month. These funds will be directed towards roads, in addition to other initiatives.
Likuyani has other important projects lined up, including "Amatsi Khumuliango" and industrialization, all outlined in our third generation CIDP.
The event was attended by area MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe, Likuyani MCAs, my Executive team, stakeholders, and, most importantly, the residents of Likuyani.

Or the 400 community areas can pool resources so long as there's start up capital. Mikopo mashinani was a good initiative though it lacked sustainable programmes.
