‘SASABIHIN BA NILANG ANG CHINA NAMAN ANG DAPAT HUMINGI NG TAWAD?’
Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela questioned whether the senators who previously called on him to apologize over his alleged smearing of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s dignity would now demand an apology from China over the China Daily video depicting Filipinos as monkeys.

China talks “peace,” but SND Gilberto Teodoro Jr.’s interview with SBS Australia lays out the pattern: coercion first, then spin, pressure on fisherfolk, law-twisting “historical” claims despite the 2016 Arbitral Award, and economic threat-signaling meant to exhaust the public and weaken sovereign decisions. The response is clear: stay calm, stay firm, stay factual, cite the ruling, support partners who defend rules, and report suspicious recruitment or influence attempts. Truth first.

I have always wondered why we Filipinos rally so passionately around our victories in beauty pageants and international sports—cheering as one nation, claiming every crown or medal as a shared triumph that fills us with collective pride.
Yet when it comes to the issue of the West Philippine Sea, a vital part of our maritime jurisdiction and livelihood, some of our own countrymen feel detached, insisting it’s distant from their lives or unrelated to what we are truly fighting for.
This contrast is striking: we unite effortlessly for moments of glory and celebration, but struggle to muster the same shared ownership when defending something foundational to our nation's rights, resources, and future. 🇵🇭
The Loss of Gina Lopez: A Missed Chance for Moral Leadership

In the annals of Philippine public service, few figures have embodied moral courage as fiercely as Gina Lopez, former Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Appointed in 2016, Lopez dared to challenge entrenched interests, ordering the closure of 23 mining operations and the suspension of five others for environmental violations. Her actions were not impulsive—they were rooted in a vision of ecological justice and a deep love for the Filipino people, especially the poor who suffer most from environmental degradation.
But in May 2017, the Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected her confirmation. The official reasons cited concerns about her competence and her bold decisions against mining firms. Yet many saw through the veil: her ouster was widely believed to be orchestrated by powerful business interests threatened by her uncompromising stance.
Lopez once warned, “Nature will fight back if we abuse it.” Today, as typhoons grow stronger and communities collapse under the weight of floods and landslides, her words echo with painful clarity. Her rejection was not just a political maneuver—it was a moral indictment of a system that too often prioritizes profit over people.
To invoke her legacy is to ask:
Who suffers when we kill the environment? The poor.
Whose duty is it to protect them? The government.
And when decisions are made to appease oligarchs and corporations, we lose not just credibility—we lose our moral ascendancy.
Gina Lopez was not perfect, but she was principled. She did not serve to please; she served to protect. Her story is a reminder that patriotism is not measured by tenure, but by the courage to speak truth to power—even when it costs you everything.
Today, as floods drown cities and landslides bury lives, we are reminded of what we lost—not just a Cabinet secretary, but a moral compass. Lopez showed us that leadership is not about longevity, but about legacy. She stood firm when it was easier to bend. She spoke truth when silence was safer. She chose the poor over the powerful.
In this hour of reckoning, what the nation needs is not more compromise, but more courage. We need leaders who possess the moral courage to speak, the heroism to act, the wisdom to foresee, and the commitment to justice—even when the cost is high.
Gina Lopez was all of these. And though we failed to confirm her in office, we must now confirm her in memory—as a patriot who dared, a prophet who warned, and a public servant who loved.

"Dear brothers and sisters,
I express my closeness to the people of the Philippines who have been hit by a violent typhoon: I pray for the deceased and their families, as well as for the injured and displaced." - Pope Leo 🙏🏻
Senator Kiko Pangilinan bags a major achievement today!
After weeks and months of convincing PBBM to ensure the actual implementation of the Sagip Saka Act and for the gov’t to prioritize and help farmers, the gov’t thru EO No. 101 finally sets a FLOOR PRICE for palay to help boost the income of farmers and for them not to be exploited by middle men and cartel buyers.
Basically ganito yan.
May minimum price na ang palay ng mga magsasaka at hindi na sila pwedeng baratin ng sobra-sobra na hindi na makatarungan.
I just need to point out to the DDS na iba ang palay sa bigas ah. Kasi dati nalilito kayo. Lalo na yung isang major major blogger sa panawagang:
Presyo ng Palay ITAAS
Presyo ng Bigas IBABA
Wag niyong agawin at i-credit grab eto mga DDS ah — this is clearly Senator Kiko Pangilinan and PBBM’s accomplishment.
Iyak na naman kayo mga DDS!

On the evening of Tuesday, 30 September, a strong earthquake struck the central region of the Philippines, particularly the province of Cebu and its neighboring provinces. I express my closeness to the dear Filipino people, and in particular I pray for those who are most severely affected by the consequences of the earthquake. Faced with any danger, let us remain united and supportive in our trust in God and in the intercession of our Blessed Mother.
Faith is transmitted in the family together with life, from generation to generation. It is shared like food on the table and the heart’s affections. This makes it a privileged place to encounter Jesus, who loves us and always wants what is good for us.
I was chosen, without any merit of my own. Now, with fear and trembling, I come to you as a brother, who desires to be the servant of your faith and joy, walking with you on the path of God’s love, for He wants us all to be united in one family.
