@dhh@trickydisco78 What’s the interdependency of those files like? Changing a single file may require changing more because of code coupling. How does versioning work? Also deployment etc. Not doing bundling doesn’t make may of these free.
Few know the history of the violent explusion of 750,000 Palestinians in 1948: it is not taught in schools, and instead many- myself included- were taught outright lies about Palestine being an empty desert, "a land without a people for a people without a land." As ideas for a second Nakba are being drawn up right and discussed right now, as you read this post, it is vitally important we remember this terrible history, and Britain’s role in it, and do everything in our power to stop it being repeated, with the full support of our ignorant, bigoted, cowardly and sometimes outrightly Islamophobic leaders.
@cnakazawa I was going to chime in with Tauri but realised I’ve been burned by Safari bugs way too many times compared to Edge on Windows. How the tables have turned.
The other question that should be asked is if Bun adds new APIs/constraints/design in the long run that makes a program written for Bun incompatible with Node. Bun advertising Node compatibility is not enough.
@varjmes@pujux_@zyxwvutswal@yagiznizipli @guykdm I won’t take back what I said (if that’s what you’re asking). The guy acted like a jerk, I called him out and he blocked the conversation.
That’s pretty much it. If the guy wasn’t paid, we both know that my response would have been way different.
Anyway, let’s move on.
@thdxr He’s saying you have the whole object, so that’s probably a clue in terms of additional metadata. That’s how I maintained a high performance contacts list for a native app.
@karanssh@housecor You’ll be surprised that most large orgs don’t actually have a hoot about modern SW engineering practices. They are full of dead wood/not invented here people who are resistant to change and would rather protect the status quo for job safety.
@rickyfm If you’re using Oracle Java, you better make sure your company’s IT has appropriate licensing in place, otherwise you’ll have Oracle calling in no time.
