Every founder knows the feeling - building ahead of the wave and wondering if you’re wrong, when you’re really just early.
Bill Tai (@KiteVC), early investor in @Zoom, @canva, and @WishShopping, reflected on @PropyInc’s journey:
“Somebody with passion, leadership, charisma, and the ability to ride through cycles - that’s fundamental to company building.
Sometimes being early feels like being wrong. But the wave eventually comes and it feels like it’s arriving now.”
We are entering the era of Fintech 3.0.
Regulatory clarity, growing consumer adoption, and low-cost chains have paved the way for a golden age of building in crypto — and at YC, @base and @coinbase we want to fund builders to seize this moment.

in case I haven't been clear: I believe the whole world will move onchain and the folks who make the move early will both shape how our global economy works *and* have outsized success
Crypto is at its Blockbuster vs Netflix moment.
Right now, businesses are going onchain and adopting crypto because they want to. They get it.
Soon, the other businesses will be desperately trying to catch up. They'll go onchain because they need to.
My advice: be early.

I’ve experienced this deeply. It took several years to find my way back to myself, my heart ❤️
Now that I’m on the other side, I’m forever grateful for the experience. We are capable of anything ✨
I’ve experienced a lot in life.
The most tragic thing is witnessing someone lose their heart.
It’s almost like losing the will to live, innocence or just being.
They are empty, full of exhaustion and just passing time until it’s their time.
Generally once you lose your heart it’s almost impossible to get back.
