@DaveHcontrarian@Bob048776875510@coding_thoughts You already know, but as a reminder: Us quieter ones appreciate it. I went outside today. π€·ββοΈ
Given how the forecast has played out so far, distance to targets, and the risk of not getting back in in time, it seems silly to try evading pullbacks or stressing as if I could. π’π
@Altcoinsmart@Chris929659@DaveHcontrarian One of David's predictions is that post-bust, the stock market will not make new highs before the wheels really come off the wagon.
The per-sector forecast already provides opportunity cost benefit. I think having a sequence without trying to time it is the risk sweet spot.
@CestrianInc@DaveHcontrarian I'll 2nd this. I'm not professional, so I don't spend $1k easily, but over the yrs, David's free work has boosted our returns (general allocations), & keeps us from making Newton's mistake. Why not pay my dues and get a well written & specific newsletter my parents can prep with?
@Monkey198111@CestrianInc@DaveHcontrarian I look at it a bit differently. With sufficient funds to invest, having sector targets can inform allocation by enough to pay for it. I'm small, so I consider it my dues for the free stuff also, not just the difference, plus it is perfect for sharing with my parents to prep them.
@Johnw9240@DaveHcontrarian@pccrypto0910@pinnacledigest I keep doing that π , thankfully just big enough to learn and not big enough I can't participate afterward. Before silver last went parabolic, I had an ok portfolio, but didn't rebalance as I should have, so it got way out of whack. Missed opportunity, but I'm learning (slowly).
@DaveHcontrarian The longer this high volatility stuff goes on, the deeper my respect for what you do. It's one thing to think a week like this is good for the wall of worry, but I can't measure how much is enough and how far/long to expect that reset to last, yet you get targets from it π€―.
@DaveHcontrarian@stock70733245@EricSolstad@Dagnoncap@JonesChu700@theandymillette Because it has to be His love and generosity and so that no man may boast.
We don't get to be an example of good on our own because we violate the creation as it could have been for His pleasure, but with His gracious accomodations we still get to participate in His kingdom.
@DaveHcontrarian@pokerprogreg71@LusciousPotate As time goes on, I realize that the euphoric narrative trap at the top you describe is going to affect me, even expecting it. That last part of a parabola is just so unpredictable and FOMO inducing.
Glad that bonds offer a transition with a clearer mental termination (0 rate).
@DaveHcontrarian@troll_buddy@MikeGil61338704@thedunkings@paymakr@citurna@GoldCore Wholeheartedly agree about classical education.
My kids just started at a classical school this year. Your forecast played a part in funding this, BTW. It shook me out of the consensus bearish fear of the time, and convinced me to pay for due diligence to pick miners as well.
@TulchRE@DaveHcontrarian@Johnw9240@realLoganMoody Steven Pinker does a really great explanation about how hard it is to access one's mental state from before understanding in order to explain it to others.
David puts a lot of effort into that challenge for non-pros. It's never enough for some. That's going to be frustrating.
@Johnw9240@DaveHcontrarian@TulchRE@realLoganMoody In the interviews he pretty much has been. Sometimes even specifically stating that he's often early.
IMHO, it's just tough to say something that will be interpreted correctly by all kinds of folks with all kinds of priming for thinking about a prediction on this timeframe.
@DaveHcontrarian@TulchRE@realLoganMoody I can vouch for "people hear what they want to hear". That's what I heard at first, and I'm young as you say.
But as I hear more interviews, I've let what you've always said about it being a forecast about the conclusion of a long timeframe cycle set the expected timing context.
@awwwyeeeah @DaveHcontrarian I'm banking on a classical education being worth more than even gold in the hands of a public school educated 20-something.
That said, yes, David's forecast is a strong influence on how I save and allocate. But after a financial collapse, I expect metal to buy fewer necessities.
@awwwyeeeah @DaveHcontrarian@Scottbilly56 I'm really keen on that financial collapse in the 2030's being wrong π .
That's going to be right around when I deploy my kids into this world as adults.
@Chris7662@DaveHcontrarian Thanks from here too. Those (further) upward revisions were timely as well.
I was too young for the last time PMs threw a party, but boy it's something else to be in it now.
Really hoping we can keep political favor for commodity supply, given your forecast.
@m111ark@DaveHcontrarian I'm looking at TLT daily, and it's just sat on the optimistic side of the down sloping trendline that started with the April peak, after having broken out from under last week.
I'm in the market to shift toward bonds for personal reasons anyhow, but it doesn't look so bad to me.
