A major step forward for health research in Nigeria.
The commissioning of the ATBUTH Clinical Trial Centre marks a significant milestone in strengthening the country's clinical research capacity under the CEPI funded Lassa Program (the ARC-WA and ENABLE Bauchi Projects).
Through collaboration between the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), CEPI, and the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM, ATBUTH, the centre will support ethical, high-quality clinical trials, strengthen workforce capacity, foster scientific collaboration, and generate evidence to improve preparedness for future epidemics.
This investment reinforces the Federal Government's commitment to research, innovation, and resilient health systems that protect the health of Nigerians.

Years later, her message remains deeply relevant.
