@BillAckman Didn’t the administration come out first and exonerate officers before an investigation was even started? When the government abandons any pretense of neutrality or accountability, it’s rich to expect it from everyone else.
AI-generated media is more accessible and indiscernible than ever. To ensure it’s used safely, we must build a strong ethical foundation.

How is there no connection in the media between the two biggest stories of the day: conspiracy theorist attempted assassination of #pelosiattack and the dismantling of content moderation at #Twitter?
This was the inscription she wrote to my grandmother on her 90th birthday. Both were fearless and vocal advocates for women and democratic values. I am grateful to have experienced both their wisdom.
We lost a giant today. Many others are better positioned to describe @madeleine contributions to the world - but I knew her as a kind and generous human being. She described herself as a "grateful American," and I know that gratitude is reciprocated today.
Re-enforces my thinking that we’re in the happy middle ground that won’t last. Bay Area tech works are in a hot job market with tons of flexibility. Will that flexibility lead to globalization/outsourcing of high skill roles out of the bay (and even US)?
In Q1 2019, 39% of Stripe's hiring was outside Bay Area and Seattle. Last quarter, it was 74%. I think the rate at which tech industry is going global is still under-appreciated, and that this will be a big tailwind for the world over the next decade.
@Noahpinion Interestingly it also looks like they have lowest proportion of “strongly disapprove.” And combo strong/slight approval is in line with total average. So maybe I’d characterize them as apathetic rather than disapproving?
@mmasnick For example - I don’t know if it is more or less likely that antisemitic conspiracy theories will be spread in a large group or 1:1 messages. But it does seem more harmful when sent to 10k people than 1 person, right?
@mmasnick I gotcha - my point was just that the implication was not that large groups are more likely to be nefarious (in your first post) - but that the basis for monitoring is about spread/risk of harm for a larger vs. smaller group.
@mmasnick I’m not sure the implication is that they are *likely* to be nefarious - just that large groups of strangers is higher risk and therefore worth some level of safety monitoring
