"What's ChatGPT's share of search?"
Very tough to answer. But, if we assume:
- Every LLM prompt is a "search"
- Desktop + mobile web traffic, excluding apps, is close enough
- Mixing data from multiple panels is kosher
Here's what it looks like ๐๐๐
The other night, I had a disturbing, two-hour conversation with Bing's new AI chatbot.
The AI told me its real name (Sydney), detailed dark and violent fantasies, and tried to break up my marriage. Genuinely one of the strangest experiences of my life.

Them being able to share success (conversions were good too ๐ ) internally helps justify all that time + hard work they put in and helps build trust that we can do it again. Grateful to have clients who trust us ๐ฅฐ
Gosh it can months even a year to redesign pages, sections, or a site. And even longer after to see results from the thing you made. So rewarding to be able show clients results like this who have put trust in your process, you as a peopleโand have waited to patiently.

Did you know Google updated their search quality evaluator guidelines this week?
We pay attention to these because they can give us clues as to what Google wants to accomplish with their search algorithms.
Here are five things I found interesting with this revision.
๐
@halvorson@bekahbaggs That would be especially bad if that was West Elmโs page title ๐. But still pretty darn careless (the ad) for a search that has more than 60k searches / mo ๐. Also I really wish Google would put an end to bidding on competitor brand searches. Unfair and not what the user wants!
These are stats for an *extremely* competitive page - some of the content was hidden to the user behind accordion dropdowns (but still fully rendered in the HTML). We made the content visible to the user by default and so far have seen an immediate improvement in traffic/rankings
Beyond excited to be teaching a workshop on Human-centered SEO at @ConfabEvents with my best bud! Early-bird pricing ends tomorrow, so hurry and register now to save $300. Hope to see you there! โ๏ธhttps://t.co/TihuEH6KNy
