Bonne Nouvelle (Good News). Today we received a substantial donation in memory of Pat Ziegenfuss, a lover of the Arts. Thank you, kind Donors. https://t.co/Zl4eP1la0t
Yesterday, after 6 years of behind-the-scenes work, BTTF Director John Adams and Chairman Walt Freeman presided over one of the first physical actions regarding the #BronzevilleTrail, taking soil samples before excavation and reshaping. Goal is to develop the abandoned #Kenwood โLโ line embankment to an elevated hiking and biking trail, emulating the Bloomingdale Trail on Chicagoโs north side.
The Trail will start at 40th & Dearborn and end 2 miles later at 41st and Lake Park Ave., connecting to the lakefront biking/walking path.
The Bronzeville Trail will encourage a healthy lifestyle and provide access to the lakefront path without traffic interference. We estimate that the Trail will cost approximately $100 million dollars. We've raised $10M so far, half of that going into streetscape work right now.
