Jamaica, listen up, this just got bigger. Today, May 6, the government announced it’s appealing a landmark Constitutional Court ruling that slapped down a ministerial override on bauxite and limestone mining in St Ann’s Dry Harbour Mountains. Information Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon dropped it at the post-Cabinet presser: Attorney General’s Chambers is taking it to the Court of Appeal.

This isn’t just about one quarry. It’s about who really calls the shots when regulators say “no” and the environment is on the line.
