EDC setups & concealed carry gear. Real-world carry. Considered takes. Tracking the chaos. Daily reminders why we own firearms, train often & carry responsibly.

On one side:
Harris. Masked.
Extended magazine.
2022 pimping conviction.
Four felony records.
Moving through six targets
across one weekend.

On the other:
Six people.
Unarmed.
No permit. No training.
No legal way
to answer a muzzle
pointed at their chest.

The playing field
was never level.
It was BUILT that way.

@AmmoLand The Supreme Court skipped reciprocity, so a lawful carry can become a felony by crossing into D.C.

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

@SecondAmendment Trading lawful defense for a promise that violence stops is a pretty good way to lose both.

> "approached her and stabbed her
> multiple times in the back"

While she was "walking outside."

Facing forward.
Threat behind.
Single burst.
No turn. No call-out.
No 7-year-old's time
to even register what hit her.

That is the one scenario
where reaction time is zero.

The only thing that negates an ambush
is a defender who was ALREADY ready.

Here's the sequence in that garage:

Bullet hits rib cage → THEN police arrive → paramedics staunch the bleeding → transport → later, apprehend.

The system is reactive. Always has been.

In a lower-level garage with one exit, your safety net is how fast a patrol car gets there. That window is shorter than you think.

Concealed carry isn't ideology. It's being the first responder to your own threat instead of waiting for someone else to show up.

@News2ATeam Good reminder. The best deterrent isn’t a sign, it’s the one they don’t know about.

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

@blkgunsmattr I might be wrong, but in my house this is an age question first. My wife is not too welcoming to guns when kids are around. I'm not sure about when to broach it.

How to evaluate a weapon after Caitano:

Is it a weapon of offense or defense? Is it commonly used or possessed by law-abiding citizens today? Does it connect to lawful purposes like self-defense, sport, or training?

Then ask whether it falls into “dangerous and unusual” territory, where machine guns are the clearest banable category.

@TheGlockieGuy Under 7 yards, a rushing attacker can make a dot harder than irons.

This is a real 2A restoration step, not nationwide SBR legalization.

The win removes a federal NFA hurdle for qualifying Palmetto State Armory customers who are current GOA members.

But the result depends on purchase history, membership, and state or local law. Incremental, targeted legal victories can restore rights without pretending the legal map is flat.

Pick a carry gun the same way: first, know your legal magazine limits.

If your state sets a cap, treat it as your ceiling. If not, choose the largest handgun you can conceal, carry daily, and shoot comfortably.

If you are limited to low capacity, know your round count and fire deliberately. When practical, 10+1 or more is a sensible floor because you want to avoid feeling under-resourced.

@TheGlockieGuy 17th patent and first pistol for the Austrian military, I finally get it, but Glock names still confuse me to this day, and repetition is the only way.

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

ATTACKER: concealed blade | chose timing | chose distance
VICTIM: empty hands | no time to react | no tool

That gap is where the 28-year-old
ended up in serious condition
at Mount Sinai.

Knives need no permit.
A concealed handgun does.

The state built a two-tier system:
aggressor arms freely,
lawful resident can't.

CCW closes that gap. Or it doesn't.

@gunrights If they can bully one owner with low pay, the next one loses the ability to defend himself.

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

@AlexDuncanTX That right still takes personal responsibility. You can't outsource your safety and act surprised when it's taken from you.

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

@USCCA If someone is coming at you in a parking lot, create space first. A drawn gun is not a warning, it is a decision.

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

@2Aupdates If .223 is too weak for hunting, how does 30 rounds of it suddenly become overkill?

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

@blkgunsmattr self defense works best when you are prepared and carry. that is the real leveler. the second amendment exists for this

[Christopher | EDC & Concealed Carry @ChrisCarriesEDC]

Here's what the Seattle carry ban actually does:

Bite of Seattle. Three fatal shootings in 24 hours.

The only people who could intervene in seconds: armed bystanders in that crowd.

The ban removes them.

Criminals don't check municipal signage before pulling a trigger.

You just can't legally stand between them and the next victim.

Who's affected? Everyone in that festival crowd. You.

Data manipulation → public record → legislation.

Cause: CDC removed defensive-gun data in 2022, restored it 10x narrower than the National Academies found. FBI reports 4%; reality is ~37%.

Effect: the public sees a right that "doesn't work."

Second-order consequence: that record becomes the floor for the next carry restriction.

A right you can't prove functions is politically expendable. Honest data isn't partisan—it's the Second Amendment's only empirical defense.
