@Microlambert@hackney_cycling It’s all part of the same urban piece and getting cyclists to H Downs (broadly) and we’ve designed better connections north of LF and west of the tracks too. The delivery mechanisms internally isn’t something I can answer I’m afraid.
@hackney_cycling@Microlambert Not sure why we’re being asked about Pembury, afraid our scheme scope doesn’t include this junction. We’re looking at the design for Amhurst and connecting into Hackney + other’s designs for the junction. We’ve designed up segregated connections from Hackney Grove to NW on Mare.
Almost the exact same location, before and after @UM_Streets’ trial upgrade of Market Street in Oxford for @OxfordCity with @civicengineers
Still space for vehicles, but now with space for people and city life to support the Market.
In a soundbite, we need more simple policies that better connect people with the consequences — financial or otherwise — of their choices, to help to change behaviours and make cities safer, and more equitable.

Excited to share plans for a more people-friendly Clerkenwell Road 😃
We're proposing:
–400m of segregated cycle lanes
–changes at important junctions such as with Gray's Inn Road and Rosebery Avenue
–pedestrian, public realm and greening improvements

Quite an election year ahead of us, so I am using my Pro Landscaper column to set out our URBAN ASKS.
For those looking to get keys to a public office take note, so you can also unlock better urban environments for people, place and planet.
First up, the humble side road zebra
Companies who advertise on new @bt_uk advertising totems - selling valuable space in the public realm - should think very carefully about the image of themselves they are buying.
Launch of #StreetScars today by @boys_nicholas. Let’s get behind this, a no brainer way to create more attractive and inclusive streets. As an aside, where does the natural stone go when utility companies dig it up and don’t put it back? It has a value.

Fab to hear @chriscities on working with people to understand what the possibilities are when it comes to streets.. what do we want to prioritise? So vital to breakdown assumptions about what public street space is used for.. - you get what you design for! 🚗🚲🛴 @UDGUrbanUpdate
Citizens. Councils. Government. Don’t take no for an answer. Work it out. Do the best not the least worst. Make places better. Sheffield really has done that. Sheffield is fabulous. Real vision from Tammy Whitaker. Very exciting. @UDGUrbanUpdate @chriscities
“Crossing time is so often designed to prioritise the maximum number of vehicles, and after a certain amount of time, people will lose patience waiting...” - our CEO, @sedwards1976 full quote ⤵️
We need #BetterCrossings now 🧵

Autobesity.
The inexorable growth in the weight and size of vehicles circulating in cities.
Paris - again - being brave enough.
