A couple SVB thoughts. 1. 250k is too low. It's insane that a small company with say 2.5m in payables and payroll at the end of the month should be "prudent" and split their cash across 10 banks in case of a run. The fees and admin would be crazy. But great for banks

And if our politicians were smart about the economy, they should actually encourage dividends over share repurchases. People are way more likely to spend money from dividends. The share increase from repurchases isn't real cash in the investor's pocket.

Aren't dividends and share repurchases kind of the same thing? So shouldn't they either both be taxed or neither of them taxed? Taxing dividends but not repurchases means companies are incentivized to do one and not the other.
