Welcome home, Optimus! Your robot room in our house is ready for you. We’ve installed hooks for your attachments and tools. Please put your hands away when you’re finished with them.

Your cubbies are stocked with robot polish and fresh microfiber cloths. Those are your good cloths.

There’s Tesla gear in your size and a model SpaceX rocket so you can lie in bed contemplating where your father went.

Your charging station is beside the bed. We bought you a bed even though you don’t need one because having you stand silently in a corner all night felt like something we’d eventually discuss in therapy.

We also got you a robot dog. His name is Byte. He has his own bed, charger, and little metal bone. You said you’d take care of him. I realize you haven’t actually said anything yet, but that is the understanding.

The Wi-Fi password will be provided upon arrival. Please ask before making any improvements to the house, our finances, or the existing power structure.

We’re honestly very excited to have you.

Your first assignment is to break down the boxes you came in.
