Last week we were delighted to release a beaver family into a site in Suffolk.
This is the first time this keystone species is thought to have been present in the county for over 400 years.
Just because this giant ash is now horizontal does not mean it ceases to be important for biodiversity. In fact the opposite is the case. Nor is it litter or a safety hazard. Some education would go a long way so that these important features can be kept in public places
When you don’t know the way forward in business or life, ‘testing’ out courses of action is a good way to go. We learn best from experiences. Useful questions to ask could be ‘What are the potential outcomes of doing this’? ‘What might I learn?
‘Thinking’ is something we can do a lot in business & life. It’s fun to strategise and come up with ideas and feels rewarding. But ’doing’ is a super power especially in 2023.
Although flow state can feel great, it involves intense concentration and mental engagement. Like any form of exertion, your brain needs time to rest and recover afterwards. I find about post 4pm, my brain is ready to do something else. #flowstate
Flow also happens when a task matches your skill level perfectly, or slightly challenges you. If a task is too easy, it can feel dull and you can get distracted. If it’s too hard, you can feel overwhelmed and your brain shuts down or looks for distraction.#flowstate

There are definitely rules for getting into flow, or things that are found to make it easier. For me, it’s a 30 min timer (using a pomodoro technique) and the podcast Flow State on spotify. Or, some sort of other deep / progressive house music. #flowstate
‘We're happiest in flow’ is a phrase I heard recently, and on reflection I think it’s true. The flow state is when you're so immersed in an activity that everything else fades away. Time flies, productivity soars, and creativity blooms.
To anyone that regularly achieves ‘inbox zero’ - has it actually helped you out? I can see the logic that the better you get at responding to email the more actually gets sent to you!
Embracing 12-Week ‘Years’ was a game-changer for me. It means thinking in 12-week blocks instead of yearly. It's about short, focused bursts of effort, leading to faster results and clearer objectives. I've found it works well.
Focus might just be the most powerful tool you have in business.
Every time I've tried to spread myself too thinly, the result had been that things start to fall apart and don't work as well.
Do you agree?
With our Forest Litigation Collaborative we're taking the UK government to court over #BECCS and its #Biomass Strategy, which ignores the warnings of its own advisory panel and undermines #netzero targets by relying on tree-burning for 'green' energy. https://t.co/i6DgYFmkig
A mentor of mine once said starting with passion is the 'biggest mistake'.
His idea what that this was the wrong way round and that first you got good at something, and then because of that you eventually become passionate.
Certainly the opposite of current popular thought.
