A useful question when reading the Bible is: What kind of thing am I reading? Is it history? Law? Poetry? Wisdom? Prophecy? Parable? Letter? Symbolic vision? A lot of interpretive mistakes happen before you even ask “What does it mean?” because the wrong category was assigned first.
@UAPWatchers The Bible is ancient wisdom literature. Trying to read it with the modern expectations of a science or history textbook is a categorical error.
A parable is not a news report.
A proverb is not a legal statute.
A vision is not the same thing as a chronological timeline.
@ShawnRyan762 Moments like these make it extraordinarily clear that there is zero difference between being an eminent theoretical physicist and tripping balls while the Hallucinogenic Toreador & the Animaniacs record a new version of Pink Floyd’s the Wall.
It’s one badass album, BTW!!!
