As the military crackdown intensifies in Myanmar, CNN’s @clarissaward reports on the ground with the permission of the military as the team are being escorted throughout. https://t.co/YM4O587MwC
These are truly limited takeaways, and I wish I had more answers. But all I can hold myself to is to not look away. To keep engaging. To help where I can. To stand on the right side of history. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar (8/8)
In pockets of time when I have managed to steer away from news, I've tried to look at what has happened in the world's history that we can learn from. How have countries stood before dictators? (cont.d) #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar (1/8)
5. Civil movements can last a long time so we must face it like so. Not a sprint, but a marathon. Here, hope is important and we cannot adapt to the new "forced reality". #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar (7/8)
Today has been so depressing. The more news we get of our youth being lost to the murderous Tatmadaw, the more stressed I feel about how their lives are being traded for no outcome :( #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
This 19yo protestor was shot and killed by military thugs today in Mandalay. Her shirt says “Everything will be OK”. Coca Cola bottle in her hand is to help to those who got hit by tear gas.
She sacrificed her life to teach us there is a hope.
This is a must-win revolution.
I’ve seen two pictures of one of today’s victims in Mandalay. In the first she is bravely defending her right to protest in the battle for democracy. In the second she had been shot and killed. I’m told she was 19 years old.

I’ve seen the pictures of the boy from Myingyan and like many of my colleagues I won’t be sharing them. It’s widely reported he was shot and killed while protesting. I’m told he was just 14. This is one of several deaths across the country today

#Singapore@VivianBala at #ASEAN meeting "appalled at the use of lethal force by the #Myanmar security forces against demonstrators". Says use of lethal force "inexcusable". Urges #military to stop violence, "step back from a rapidly deteriorating situation. It is not too late"

Next time I'm frustrated about a PDF dataset, I should consider staging a coup too #opendata
A heart-broken sister ready to face anything.
A sister knelt down in front of the brutal police after violent crackdown of peaceful protesters in Myitkyinar.
LOVELY: During the crackdown, people left their phones, shoes and accessories. Residents nearby kept them and displayed in public. Everyone can take their belongings back. #MilkTeaAllianceMyanmar
DAWEI: A soldier gives the gun to a police for like test-shooting. And when he hit a man, all celebrate happily. Today in Dawei, Tanintharyi. #MilkTeaAllianceMyanmar
