@ContractorCalc Stride is the worst example of a career politician who will do or say anything to get power. An @hmtreasury apologist and puppet, he will be forever remembered as the person who helped with the #LoanCharge scandal cover-up, which resulted in more than a dozen suicides. So far.

Some politicians even force electorates into debt & taking their own lives.

Yesterday's post about a Loan Charge settlement HMRC can't seem to process seemed to resonate deeply.

What stood out in the replies wasn't anger about the tax. It was exhaustion.

People have been living with this for the best part of a decade. Unresolved. Recalculated. Passed between teams. Told to wait for a review, then told to wait again.

At some point, delay stops being an administrative failing and becomes the harm itself. It almost feels like a purposeful personal attack - rather than just sheer negligence and poor service.

People need an ending. The system doesn't seem built to give them one - and i'm not sure the Loan Charge Review and settlement scheme is the answer either.

This has been a very difficult few years but I am now ready to reveal the documents that HMRC managed to keep out of court. They show that an industrial tax avoidance industry was maintained by officials who, until it became untenable, misled MPs, Ministers and Parliament.

in fact i can’t help thinking they have an internal competition for each of the groups working on cases receiving bonuses for the most victims they suppress into admitting & paying for a crime they never committed.
