Colston Loveland write up
I don't think people have caught on to how good Colston Loveland is yet.
I mean the first thing is his movement skills are just outrageous for his size.
He legitimately looks like a wide receiver when he's able to line up off the line of scrimmage and really open it up as a receiver.
He accelerates very well for his size and is able to get up to top speed quickly and this makes him a very dangerous threat as a route runner and gives him a pretty good ceiling.
But what gives him that outrageous ceiling is his fluidity and ability to cut on a dime.
You would think for someone 250 lbs that it would be difficult for them to control their speed and break in or out in an efficient manner when running their routes.
But Loveland has rare fluidity and it gives him the ability to snap off his routes and create separation from the DB at the top of his route like a WR can. And he does a really good job as well at using his size and his length to his advantage to create separation.
And this makes him extremely dangerous on in breaking and out breaking routes, and dare I say, automatic at times.
And that's not even mentioning his ball skills. He has a massive catch radius, catches well in congested areas, catches outside his frame consistently well, and has upper echelon ball tracking ability.
And as you can see, the guy is pretty good after the catch.
Bounces off tackles consistently, has a ton of burst once he catches the ball and gets into open space and has good vision to make the most of the space he's given.
And the guy can block. He's not the best blocker in the world, and there's little details here and there that need to be refined.
But you could see some of those being ironed out as the season progressed and that's very promising to see from a rookie.
What's most important is he has the length and the frame to be a very good in line blocker and you could see flashes of it last year. Just a matter of consistency at this point.
And it's clear with the blocking, route running, and ball skills he gradually improved as the year went on and went from a good TE early in the year, to one tier away from elite. In my opinion.
But I think the most encouraging thing to me to know this guy special is there's not one glaring and apparent weakness that shows up consistently.
It's just tiny details in his blocking and in his route running and a matter of being more consistent all around.
It's hard to find weaknesses in this guy's game. You really have to put his tape under a microscope to find them. He's really that special.
I think he has gold jacket potential to be honest. Elite movement skills, flashes of elite ball skills, a good blocker who can play in line and can play all over the formation for that matter, dangerous after the catch. I could rave about his tape all day and I feel like I'm just rambling at this point.
He really is just that good.
This Bears trio has the potential to be very special. I think Rome Odunze is a great #2 receiver who has the potential of a #1 but regardless is a really solid #2 guy right now.
I said it last week, I think Luther Burden has top 15 potential and can be an alpha receiver.
Colston Loveland is just a different beast though. I think he's TE4 in the league right now and very well could be the best by the middle of the season.
You have a special unit here Bears fans. Enjoy it.

@Icemike26_@Not_Gstreets@Tpars_boii None at all. No sense in communicating with people at the far left side of IQ bell curve. They just start looping retarded takes
Women will do shit like this and then wonder why the entire planet and every major religion has imposed strict social restrictions on their sovereignty since the dawn of time in every place humans have ever lived
Unbelievable play by Caleb Williams in redzone 11v11.
Dexter Lawrence beat the double team. Had a hand in his face.
Williams threw a laser that whizzed over Jordan Battle’s head to Colston Loveland in the endzone.
An impossible completion and he made it.
Caleb Williams connected with Rome Odunze on a comeback route in 11 on 11s. Odunze broke the tackle near the left sideline and outran the defense for a touchdown.
