I have given many rackets/balls away (shoutout @chrissyro_ ) I’ve also helped put together events specifically for black people wanting to know more about the sport. Also given away tickets to tournaments.
Thanks though 😊 and it’s too*
Yesterday, the @AP ran a story about our client @TheGISTUSA co-hosting a celebration for the US women's hockey team with Flavor Flav in Vegas. And I have to be honest… this one’s personal.
For those who don't know The GIST: they're a women-founded sports media company with 1M+ subscribers, and they give women's sports the same serious coverage that men's sports has always gotten. Their whole thing is equal coverage, written by women, for all sports fans.
That alone makes them a dream client.
When the US women's hockey team won gold in Milan, The GIST moved fast. Within 72 hours, they'd partnered with Flavor Flav and MGM Resorts to organize a "She Got Game" weekend celebration in Las Vegas this July.
And we moved fast with them, helping get the story in front of the right people.
Now, getting a client into the AP always feels like a win. But when the client's entire mission is making sure women get the coverage they deserve… there’s an extra layer of deliciousness.
Congrats to @DehoopJacie and the entire GIST team for this huge win, and thank you kindly to @C_TheSavage and @John_Wawrow at the @AP for the coverage.
so women in sports have to be unattractive (which is subjective btw) enough to not tempt men because some of them lack self control? that’s such patriarchal bullshit.
also there’s zero correlation between attractiveness and professionalism.
Literally killed an over one hundred year old legacy and all just for a little bit more profit…This is exactly what he was brought in to do, why he was always resented, and it’s effectively further pushed us closer towards the end of theatrical and physical media releases. Anyone celebrating this or saying, “it could’ve been worse” to justify it…I literally don’t know what kind of a future you see or value but it’s certainly not the one I do.
What’s crazy is Udonis used to be on ESPN with Stephen A and the questions would make you think he was just a guy who had some opinions but they never gave him a set up like this to display his basketball knowledge.
All creatives everywhere felt seen watching these clips because we've all had to work with this type of person who doesn't know their clip ons from clipart.
