I'm very lucky to be able to join surveys in some high diversity grassland fungi sites. This species, I was only vaguely aware of prior, was the highlight of last week's visit. I think the current name is Pseudotricholoma metapodium, Mealy Meadowcap. #grasslands #fungi

First waxcaps of the year and a new species for me. I think these are Hygrocybe acutoconica, the Persistent Waxcap.
Growing around sand dunes on the wet and windy west coast of #anglesey.

I think this is Toothwort, Lathraea squamaria. Found yesterday growing at a woodland edge.
The woods are beautiful place to be right now full of amazing fungi, flora and fauna.

Verpa conica, Thimble morel and Morchella semilibera, Semi-free morel. Both in the same small patch of scrubby woodland on chalky/sandy soil.

I think this is the Smoky Roundhead, Stropharia inuncta, growing in the ‘wild’ bit at the bottom of the garden.
It’s dried out in these pics I took this morn, they looked different last night, wetter and with a slight visible ring on the stem. #fungi #faunaflorafunga
