This study compared survival outcomes for ductal carcinoma in situ among patients undergoing breast-conserving surgery alone 🆚 breast-conserving surgery with radiation treatment 🆚 mastectomy
Analysing data from 18 442 women, the 8-year disease-specific survival rates were 99.6% or higher across all treatment groups, with no significant differences observed
These findings support the feasibility of offering personalized locoregional treatment for ductal carcinoma in situ without compromising breast cancer survival
