DIGGER.
I really loved the first ten minutes.
Especially the scene with Sandy Clarkson telling Digger about the nine metre crack.
That is the last scene I enjoyed.
THE SOCIAL RECKONING.
Aaron Sorkin’s companion piece is heavy-handedly written & timidly directed. Thus, the final offering is a narratively stunted follow up to a much greater predecessor. That said, Mikey Madison & Jeremy Allen White’s robust chemistry is a welcome distraction.
It was tremendously thrilling to see THE HUNGER GAMES films in the cinema again (back-to-back).
Dark, gritty, overflowing with political subtext & always emotionally-rewarding.
Watching Jennifer Lawrence’s jaw-dropping & bravura performance, uninterrupted, was an absolute GIFT.
AVENGERS ENDGAME: ENCORE.
Had a blast watching #Endgame in the cinema again. Haven’t seen it in six years & it holds up incredibly well. The emotional beats still bring tears, breathtaking action & a reminder of how they concluded the ‘Infinity Saga’ so successfully.
Thrilling!
“A new coming-of-age classic.
One of those true discoveries you only get a few times in life.” (Chase Hutchinson, The Wrap)
Watch the trailer for LA GRADIVA, the debut feature from Marine Atlan, and
winner of the Critics’ Week Grand Prize at Cannes.
In theaters December 18.
Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth, only this time it’s 1977 and it’s a very different Hollywood.
Directed by David Fincher from a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino, THE FURTHER MIS-ADVENTURES OF CLIFF BOOTH comes to IMAX November 25.
For the famous "U Can't Touch This" dance scene, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu wore heels so they could fit in the same camera frame as Cameron Diaz, who performed the routine barefoot
HEART OF THE BEAST.
Thrives as a survival thriller, less-so as a PTSD melodrama, but comes out on top thanks to stunning locations, a lot of heart and the powerful chemistry between Brad Pitt & the extraordinary dog, Odin.
PRACTICAL MAGIC 2.
Despite Nicole Kidman’s much welcomed comedic relief and Sandra Bullock’s sarcastic charm, this sequel is almost entirely undone by its lazily-assembled plot.
Horrendously generic.
Its two stars deserved a better movie (and so did we)!
