@_fethers@AAliments Yes, I was 12 when I learnt it (I was late because I was stubborn about writing in print, I hated the teacher who made me learn it, and then was grateful once I'd mastered it and realised it was actually much faster).
@rich_rdctd@OneAdee@GK101_ If they are a higher rate taxpayer (which they are, earning £100,000) they can't transfer any of their partners tax allowance, only lower rate taxpayers can do that.
@pstutler@Owennfa People don't want to give odd jobs to kids. My kids tried asking about helping with gardening and pet sitting, but everyone wants to hire adults with liability insurance to do these jobs, and no one wants teens to babysit.
@RachaelD_HoP@Eastreadingcom@KirstieMAllsopp When I was in halls everyone left their door open most of the time so you could say hello as you passed or pop in. Now they are all fire doors, it's a corridor of closed doors. Much harder to make friends and talk.
@LearNonsense@Malcolm744@AerLingus I'm v. confused. You say no allocated seats exist after the 48hr cut off, but that must mean unallocated seats are left surely. So you get on the plane and sit in the seat that's left over.
What happens if you don't pay, you've paid to travel, they have to put you somewhere.
@babystreetrat Related to this, at Disneyland Paris waiting for the fireworks everyone was sitting on the ground. Perfect, we can all look up and see the fireworks, no one is blocking anyone's view. But as soon as they start everyone stands up and I (and my kids) can't see anything. Why??
@JamesAnderson_2@theprepperguy It's in the flour you buy as well, unless you buy wholemeal (which I personally don't like) or manage to get it from a small supplier, but we can't all get it from a small supplier because then they won't be small anymore.
@JLFinch2@joon_of Most schools don't allow use between lessons, only lunch and break. But the queues for the toilets are so long you often can't get in at break, and at lunch queues for food are long too, so you either eat or use the toilet.
I think breaks should be staggered to reduce queues.
@BENZOTOOIE My Mum has done my family tree back to the 1600s on some lines. It is all South East England (mostly same area of Kent/what is now London). From the surnames there must be some Welsh, but she hasn't found it so far,
@flinny71@AkadeBemsen If you research & find the thing with the exact features & exact size you want, then someone buys you one similar you are then stuck with something that's not quite right for years because it feels wasteful to buy the one you want when you already have one that's nearly right.
@angryaboutbikes The problem with their policy is (made up examples) hair loss, tiredness and sore joints could be separate issues, but for all I know are all symptoms of one problem. If I don't tell them all the problems at once they might not realise it is X disease with those symptoms.
@falseroxy@SommeEllier It confuses me so much, I'm mid 40s in the UK and have had food poisoning twice in my adult life (I don't remember as a child), once when I was in Bulgaria and ate some probably dodgy fish, and once in Kenya.
@kchoudhu@karolkarpinski Family of five is worse, you would almost always need two rooms, but interconnected are hard to find, so the adults have to sleep in different rooms. By the time you've paid for two rooms Airbnb is cheaper.
@NoMoreWaste22@sapphyreblayze Those country roads only have national speed limit for a technicality, to save money on surveying and putting up signs, and the signs themselves become a hazard. It is dangerous to drive at 60 on most of them, you should drive according to road conditions.
