We are world champions in the hugely competitive mind game of chess without substantial support from either the government or the corporates.
One man Vishwananthan Anand made this possible. Vishy truly deserves a Bharat Ratna.
Aravindh Chithambaram is the Champion of Prague Chess Masters 2025! Aravindh scored an amazing 6/9 points to clinch this tournament. This is only the 2nd classical super-tournament Aravindh has played, and he's won them both now!
In the final round, Aravindh @pawnof64squares Chithambaram held a solid draw against Ediz Gurel to clinch sole first place in the tournament. What an amazing performance for him - Aravindh finishes this event as the Champion, also the World no.14 now with a live rating of 2743!
A huge congratulations to Aravindh, his team and his family for this amazing result. This could only mean one thing - more invites for top tournaments coming his way, and we can expect more of such amazing runs!

I still cannot believe that I can:
- look at a world map and tap anywhere to zoom in at street level
- instantly access any song, book, movie, tv show, or podcast ever made
- have any conceivable question and get an immediate answer or video explanation
- take a photo or video wherever I am and add it to my massive, searchable, always accessible personal archive
- video call anyone in my life, at anytime, no matter where they are
- watch live sports on a little wireless glass rectangle
- type out these thoughts and have them read by thousands of people, all over the world, a few seconds later
Came for an event in Mumbai.
T2 terminal. Tried a rickshaw this time. Just for fun. Cool conversation.
Me: how many years driving.
He: > 30 yrs.
Me : Family?
He: wife and Son.
Me: What is son doing ?
He: IIT Hyderabad, 3rd year.
Me: how many hrs you drive daily?
He: 12 to 14 hrs a day.
Me: why so long ?
He: son fees too high.
A lot more learning.
Finally, that star hotel in BKC did not allow the rickshaw in. Security rudely said to driver “rules of hotel”. Made me to get down and walk in. What a strange rule ?
