Very pleased that our new paper has come out. Together we integrated a reduced-complexity #groundwater model in #WSIMOD. WSIMOD integrates human and natural components of the water system and provides very exciting modelling opportunities. Really happy that groundwater is now in.
Our paper in collaboration with Imperial's #WSIMOD team out. We incorporated a #groundwater module into the integrated water system model and apply a flux tracking approach to reveal groundwater and river baseflow origins and assess groundwater abstraction management options.
We've just created the first national scale #groundwater model of Great Britain:

Want to do a PhD on #flooding?
A number of PhD opportunities have just been advertised through FLOOD-CDT (https://t.co/sxbOE9yX3V)
We are looking for applicants for this project:
Development of a national groundwater flood inundation modelling and forecasting platform
We're delighted to be part of this new centre for doctoral training and look forward to working with our university collaborators and industry partners to help train the experts we need to address the challenges of #flooding.
This month's UK Hydrological Outlook for the next 3 months just issued https://t.co/ZvUCspSvD2
@groundwater at some sites in Wessex and
the South Downs Chalk sites likely to
experience exceptionally high levels in November
Interested in #hydrogeology and modelling and would like to do a PhD? We've just advertised a couple of projects co-supervised by @BGSEnvMod and @ImperialCiveng
Interested in @groundwater systems and how modelling can help to understand and manage them? We have a couple of PhD studentships as part of Imperial College's doctoral training programme and are seeking applications. Deadline: 8 January 2024.

Nice article in the @BBCNews today discussing the tool we built working with @Thames21 and plans for its use by those seeking to tackle this source of pollution.
New dataset alert! Check out our new 2km gridded daily projections of potential groundwater recharge from 1981 to 2080. Based on UKCP18 data, this dataset can inform decision-making and climate change research in the UK. Access for free https://t.co/nlAaL8SdKo . #groundwater
Paper describing the development of our new @UK_CEH -led hydrological and #groundwater projections dataset based on UKCP18 just published https://t.co/YbzxJmFKyj
Vacancy for an Environmental / Groundwater Modeller to join our team @BritGeoSurvey. Lots of interesting projects seeking to understand the role of water in UK and global environmental systems supporting their sustainable management. https://t.co/oF4x8B0AbH… Please RT
Our Sarah Collins led paper from @LandwiseNFM project just out, exploring the impact of #NFM on peak and low flows in a #groundwater-dominated catchment https://t.co/J9YLWhUQIe
Very pleased that first paper from Louisa Oldham's PhD investigating intercatchment #groundwater flow using large River Thames, UK flow & groundwater datasets just out (https://t.co/sBxlmqi2x4) with @FreerJim @coxon_gemma @nicholashowden & John Bloomfield (@BGSGroundwater)
