@McFaul Article from Nov 1914, 108 years ago. Replace "Galicia" with Ukraine, and "Austria" with NATO or the West. Clearly history is repeating itself.
@Copernicus2013@Sulkhan True, it was in the context of East Germany and West Germany unifying a couple months after the Berlin Wall came down.
And why would the USSR even address NATO expansion into Eastern Europe & the USSR when the Aug 1991 coup was still 18 months away?
@ScottDinflorida@LauraLoomer Traveling to Ukraine isn't difficult. Their visa rules haven't changed (Americans don't need a visa to enter). Lines at the border were common, too, adding to travel time. Tens of millions of people live everyday dealing with Russian attacks. It's not expensive either.
@therevjoeblank@jbaratka8@AlienFromAfar@CitizenComm@LauraLoomer@POTUS@ZelenskyyUa You just hit back with a load of pro-Russian slop.
Ukraine has been a US ally.
Despite not being a member of NATO, having no treaty or any "great historical or cultural connection" Ukraine sent troops to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa when the USA asked.
@DaniilDMalyshev@M_Simonyan Russia exists because the USA allows it.
The US is waiting for Putin to use nukes, giving the USA the reason they need. Thanks to Ukraine taking out so many radars in Russia it will be a cake walk. There will be no retaliation because Russian nukes don't work.
@BohuslavskaKate Democrats agree the US is more corrupt than Ukraine, but it's not them, just Republicans.
Republicans agree the US is more corrupt than Ukraine, but it's not them, just Democrats.
America is just too divided to think clearly.
@JFS0six@vote_smash@LauraLoomer Agree with it all, but Yanukovych fled to Russia in Feb 2014. Ukraine had an interim president for three months until elections could be held in around May 25, 2014.
@CitizenComm@LauraLoomer@POTUS@ZelenskyyUa Take off those red/blue glasses, they keep you from seeing clearly. He didn't campaign against Trump. Geez. He went to secure much needed artillery shells.
@vincavani@Mylovanov She is on the left and has hated on Trump for a long time. Probably even when he authorized Javelins for Ukraine. But she isn't likely wrong about Witkoff and Kushner. Why else would they go to Moscow so many time while avoiding Ukraine? Even ol' Biden went.
