When you launched a couple of Wiffle homers on a 90-degree day then came inside with your friends and plowed through about a half-dozen of these bastards ... nobody tells you at the time but that’s actually about as good as life gets.
"The life of Theodore Roosevelt reminds us that Americans never give up."
President Trump says Theodore Roosevelt's story still has something to teach America.
Speaking ahead of the country's 250th year, Trump pointed to Roosevelt as an example of resilience, saying, "We don't give up."
"He never stopped, never quit, never surrendered in pursuit of his dreams," Trump said as he outlined lessons from the 26th president's life.
@Suzierizzo1 Here’s Johnny!!! So much less political than today’s hosts. Doubt any of the current ones ever have a show without ripping Trump. It gets boring frankly. How about making us laugh like Don Knotts use to.
@jon_wertheim I won’t debate the author but he left out one component…more instructors/pied pipers/coaches. USTA is on that as well as RSPA and PTR. We need younger “boots on the ground” to replace our aging 70s tennis boom pros. Combine that with better infrastructure and we can rebound.
@jon_wertheim I was TD for a USTA Pro Circuit final that ended at 6–5 when player defaulted due to injury. With sponsors and fans in the stands, it was a letdown. My suggestion: schedule the doubles final the same day—at least the fans get two matches. Not perfect, but better than nothing.
