As if there wasn’t enough on the sports calendar the Saquon Barkley documentary on Prime comes out today.

Some thoughts on it:

** I’m not sure how a Giants fan could watch this without hating the team even more and maybe never being able to love the sport of football again. Had to be complete torture.

** Credit to Saquon for being so open in this. It does feel like a completely unfiltered look at the life of a professional athlete. The surgery, the contract, etc. Feels very authentic.

** Pretty surprising how much Saquon genuinely wanted to stay with the Giants while also being understandably mad at how they handled it. It obviously worked out for the better for him but crazy to think if the Giants paid him he probably does pick them over the Eagles (which would have been the wrong decision for him).

** Saquon really does have the same thing Jalen Hurts has — the ability to add value to the franchise by who he is and how he represents the franchise. From how he acts on the field, with the media, with his family, etc — he is definitely someone Lurie is happy to pay extra to because of what having him attached to the Eagles means for the Eagles franchise

** The Eagles definitely had interest in Saquon initially because of the player but they insisted it was because of the person he was as well. They insisted that again when they paid him again this offseason. It comes off why they feel that way in the documentary.

** Was unreal watching him do what he did last season, even though we all lived through it. Really is an all-time Philly sports season that we are lucky we got to experience.

** Such a shame he didn’t get the rushing record. Even though he did get the more important one (the winners record of regular season + playoffs), it is a shame he didn’t get to set it against the Giants.

** It really comes across what he means in that locker room as a leader. That wasn’t a secret, but with the AJ/Jalen meeting this week, this documentary hammers home how important he is setting the mood for the team through good and bad times.

** Says he wants to get back to the Super Bowl so he can put his stamp on the game. Probably does understandably eat at him a little he didn’t score in the game.

** This quote at the end about the 2024 season has stuck with me: “(I) played with vengeance in my heart for one year…But that doesn’t last.”

** Overall definitely a must-watch for Eagles fans and really well done.
