No White Paper. No Parliamentary debate. No public consultation. No independent impact study.

Just a minister, a pen, and a family business waiting on the other side.

Let’s talk about what this “policy” actually is:

→ Son Nikhil’s company Cian Agro: ₹18Cr → ₹523Cr revenue in one year

→ Their stock: ₹37 → ₹638. A 2,184% surge; while “the file” was being drafted

→ Son Sarang: Director at Manas Agro. Also in ethanol. Also quietly booming.

Father writes the regulations. Sons hold the equity.

And we’re supposed to call this a “national dream.”

In any functioning democracy, a minister with direct family financial interests in a sector CANNOT unilaterally regulate that sector.

That’s not politics, that’s a constitutional principle.

Where is the Lokpal?
Where is the Prime Minister?
Where is the Parliament?

The dream isn’t about ethanol.

The dream is about a country where accountability has been fully, quietly, abolished.

I’m writing this from Chicago, and I have deep respect for you, but I also want to share a lived perspective from many NRIs who chose to stay abroad.

For most of them, it’s not just about earning more money, not any more. That’s a very small part of the story. The real reasons are the quality of everyday life and systems that work more consistently:

- lower day-to-day corruption
- less dependency on “connections” for basic services
- stronger safety nets during emergencies
- better civic discipline
- cleaner cities and better infrastructure
- roads without constant stress and unpredictability

These are not luxury factors, that is just daily living in very fundamental ways.

What is their incentive for them to return back ? How long will we just keep pushing the narrative of the homeland?

Many of them didn’t “leave India behind.” They simply built a life where the system around them allows more predictability and stability.

And to be honest, those of us who stayed back in India like you and I did so by choice too. We can choose to work on improving what’s broken here, instead of framing it as something that can be solved by asking people to return.

Both paths matter. Both contributions are valid.
