Square Enix says it could make more traditional turn-based Final Fantasy remakes if that’s what fans want.

At a recent shareholders meeting, the company was asked if it would consider remakes closer to the originals, with updated graphics and turn-based combat, instead of the action-focused style of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series.

Square Enix said it will keep making games that “truly resonate” with players.

They also will pay attention to fan response to Final Fantasy Resonance, which has the classic turn-based gameplay and HD-2D graphics.

For now, Square Enix will keep listening to player feedback before deciding the direction of future Final Fantasy remakes.
