You guys, I shot this last night on an iPhone 14 Pro 🤯 the level of dust detail is insane! And this is only a quick edit using the in built tools of the phone! Who said you need a DSLR to capture the Milky Way?!? Will be trying for more tonight!
attended my first conference this week and was sadly aware how there are so few female senior scientists in our field, but now I’m feeling so grateful for my cohort of cool women in my research group and I can’t wait for the future we create in our field

Rock. Rock. Rock. Rock. Rock. Rock. METEORITE!
It's not uncommon to find meteorites on Mars - in fact, I've done it a few times! (see 🧵) But a change in scenery's always nice.
This one's about a foot wide and made of iron-nickel. We're calling it "Cacao."
IMPACT SUCCESS! Watch from #DARTMIssion’s DRACO Camera, as the vending machine-sized spacecraft successfully collides with asteroid Dimorphos, which is the size of a football stadium and poses no threat to Earth.
We've seen tons of stuff about gravitational lensing since the release of the JWST images. But, how does it work? Get a better idea of it in my latest video!
📢 The moment we have been waiting for is here. #Webb delivers deepest infrared image of Universe yet in special briefing. Known as Webb’s First Deep Field, this image features the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, which is overflowing with detail https://t.co/CXoSpDqTLB 👇
creating this account made me realise that, on a day-to-day, things seem way too mundane to share, but once you finally have data then it’s fun to be able to present things! soon I will retrospectively share some of the lab work I did for my internship ☺️
things have been really up in the air recently about my project funding, but we’ve finally heard that I’ll be receiving the lower amount which has kinda knocked my enthusiasm :/ but it is picking up again and I’m getting really excited about finally starting everything properly
I keep intending to update this account with all the things that I’ve been learning, but I’ve learned so much that I don’t even know where to start!
This week I’ve joined a thin section microscopy course, which has been a very steep introduction, but at least it’s pretty🤩
In 2019, biologist Eleanor Lutz combined five different data sets to produce this image of every known thing in our solar system with a diameter bigger than 10 kilometers.
I start my internship today!! I’m not needed until the afternoon, and I think it’ll mostly be an admin day with documents to sign, but I am super excited to finally meet my supervisor and the group ☺️
