PSA: I'll be posting only on b s k y and on VGen from now on.
I don't think I'll post any new art here, with the blatant statement that our stuff will be use to train A I 🤮
Will still occasionally be here to like and bookmark stuff tho, so I guess this is good bye?
Misleading.
Both 'Monetized content' and 'Commercial merchandising' fall under commercial usage. Vgen has VERY CLEAR definitions of what license allows you to do what with the artwork.
also 'MONETIZED content should NOT be charged extra' is a crazy take.
You can now block grok from modifying your images!
Go on mobile > create post > edit photo > press the little flag button and it will be there!
📢 Artists! How to protect yourself with invoices &
What to do if you get a PayPal chargeback 🧵
Do you write "commission" in your invoice?
There's actually something much better...
PSA: do not treat VGEN boosts like tips !
i learnt from Sevi that:
- vgen takes a cut of every boost
- boosts only offer visual enhancements ie frame and decorations
- they don’t add anything to help the artist get into the algorithm etc
- on top of the vgen cut, paypal and withdrawal fees are also detrimental
- and more from the vgen announcement post below
artists, would it be okay if i “boosted” the minimum amount and sent my tip to your kofi etc?
i’m glad it’s not normalised to tip over here so i only do it for comms that go above and beyond … but i can’t believe i naively thought it would go all to the artist ;-;
IMPORTANT message for everyone using Gmail.
You have been automatically OPTED IN to allow Gmail to access all your private messages & attachments to train AI models.
You have to manually turn off Smart Features in the Setting menu in TWO locations.
Retweet so every is aware.
u guys should start communicating with your artist about your satisfaction with an artwork that you received. most artists can revise their work bc you paid good money for it. they aren’t machines, sometimes they make mistakes and they don’t churn out the same quality every time.
Dropping a comment under an artists' artwork or reposting could be the very thing that changes their lives. And we're not talking about numbers either. Their happiness and motivation can be heavily influenced just because YOU cared. Theyre happy they know YOU know, they exist 🤍
🚫 Please. Don't. Do. This. And please don't recommend it.
I get the frustration, but adding a second "I agree" or password step doesn't make an artist's TOS stronger. It just creates a separate consent point that can weaken or invalidate the original agreement.
On platforms like VGen, clients already agree to the TOS when they start a commission. If they ignore it, that's on them. Artists enforce. They don't re-consent.
Once a client agrees to a TOS at checkout or submission, that's the moment of contract formation.
Everything after that point is post-agreement behavior. Adding anything that looks like another validation or confirmation afterward can:
💠 Make it seem like there are two agreements.
💠 Create ambiguity about when the contract was actually accepted.
💠 Undermine the clarity of the original consent event.
This is scary af. We should add a note like this when sending client proposal from now on :
"Note : if you send payment through PayPal, this is the email adress I use : ____
If you found it appear to be other than that address, don't proceed the payment & please let me know."
We’re better at making games than social media. Can you help us out and share this far and wide? 🙏
