@NamecheapCEO Did we learn nothing from the OVH fire? Or the bombing of multiple AWS locations in the middle east? An entire single-site can go away in an instant. This should be top-of-mind always in every risk management decision being made for a company at your scale.
@NamecheapCEO I work in this industry too as a an architect for databases in large scale deployments all over the world.
WHY is a single datacenter outage effecting your entire infrastructure? Why didn't you see the risk of having all that infra in a single site?
No geo-redundancy !?
@_atrac17 I'm confused... Didn't really know about the device but looking it up now.
Its a $200 device that -ONLY- does GB/GBC...?
When $220 nets you an Analogue Pocket, which even without extra cores already has GBA support too.
Agreed, overpriced, and who's it really for !?
@astoundconnects I've ALREADY got the contract in hand to get @googlefiber in my building, but holding off while we negotiate some specific terms.
In the mean time, just sent a bid request out to @ZayoGroup since they apparently literally have fiber terminated outside my window.
Going to war with my ISP isn't what I had in my bingo card for the week!
@astoundconnects wants to raise my rates by $20 with no recourse, without fixing the issues they caused?
WHOOPS, looks like they're misreporting data to the FCC.
Just filed a complaint ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
That $20 increase on my bill is going to net @astoundconnects significantly more in fines/fees from the federal government for misreporting services.
Alls they had to do was fix the IPv6 shit they broke and not raise my rates. Now I'm in "pissed off Vince" mode.
Lost Media preservationists: You disappoint me.
No one alerted me that the uploads of Korean Super Show to YouTube were all deleted. I had to go find out by myself.
I put my personal backups in the Eventyr directory here, so you can grab them along with what I collected of Danish Super Mario 3.

They will be on my YouTube shortly.
YOU'RE WELCOME.
NOW GO FIND MORE EPISODES.
Heading into December, wondering when @astoundconnects / @WaveConnects is going to re-enable IPv6 that they disabled for the entire city back in August.
This is a multi-month outage.
PLEASE fix your shit already!?
In the mean time, I'm signing contracts for another ISP.
@retrotink2@RetroRGB The software gets more and more super buggy the older it gets. My assumption with THIS particular error is it isn't setting up the correct profile registers in the ASIC responsible for video decoding.
Mine had tons of audio issues, like it would just drop the center channel
@astoundconnects So what you're saying is you don't run any of your equipment on battery backup at all.
And I know this, because you didn't install any battery backup for the main equipment in my building.
Such a failure of an infrastructure company.
@thefurryitwolf@Salaman@jeffwilcox@gowave_g@astoundconnects@WaveConnects No, it was a brief phone conversation by proxy, kinda. The focus at the time was to restore service from a 100% total outage for some residents in my building. The IPv6 discussions happened later, but everything broke at the same time, and I'm only guessing, for the same reason.
@thefurryitwolf@Salaman@jeffwilcox@gowave_g@astoundconnects@WaveConnects I got a chance to talk with a NOC tech a month or so ago.
Basically, they changed the router port provisioning to new software to make it easier to onboard new customers.
But that new software is total shit and broke a LOT of things, not just IPv6.
