DSA momentum is real but also I think voters in deep blue districts have just watched deep red seats elect insane far-right candidates for a decade now and finally feel like they should be allowed to do the same thing with some socialists.

Melat Kiros defeats incumbent Diana DeGette in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District (Denver).
Kiros is a 29-year-old first time candidate. DeGette has been in Congress for 30 years.
DeGette is the third Democratic House incumbent to fall in the last week.
Things would rapidly change in the South in the 20 years after this election. White Dems rapidly retired or lost reelection, reducing them to mainly a party of black/Latino voters in the region.
The few white Dems left mostly represent heavily minority districts.
