Vance brags about imperialism, claiming we are going to be able to control the resources of another country that we used force to access. Disgusting. And it's not going to work. We are cutting this deal with another dictator who is very unpopular.

Second, I actually agree with Vance about how effectively we demonstrated US military excellence in Venezuela, but then you all threw that away by demonstrating US military weakness in Iran. Huge mistake (not of our soldiers but of our commander in chief). Our "sword" right now doesn't look so powerful.

Third, we don't "call the shots" in our neighborhood. Tell that to our Canadian neighbors. Or Brazilians. Or Cubans. I could go on.

Ok, so, a short recap of what’s happened:

Farmers need potash as fertilizer. Potash is necessary to grow food and feed the world.

Yet Trump started a completely pointless war in Iran which choked off the Strait of Hormuz. This limits the world supply of potash, as million of tons of it come from Jordan and must travel through the Strait.

Ok, no problem. Our friendly neighbors to the north of us just happen to be the world’s #1 exporter of potash. We’ll just buy from them!

Oh wait, Trump completely wrecked our friendship with Canada for literally no reason by slapping them with egregious tariffs and insulting them by calling them the 51st state.

Well, darn. Ok, then we’ll make a deal with the #4 exporter of potash, Belarus. Belarus is a dictatorship and one of Putin’s satellite states. So, by buying from Belarus, we are indirectly helping Putin fund his war in Ukraine. Not good, but we need to eat.

Oh wait, all of Belarus’ potash has already been spoken for. There’s none for us to buy.

The USA is going to be in deep crap next growing season, and it’s not the kind of crap that can fertilize a field. There WILL be food shortages. Americans WILL go hungry.

This Austin ICE shooting is pretty incredible. They smashed the DoorDash driver's car. They shot the driver in the back. They pull them out of the car. Tear open his shirt. Confirm he's been shot. Take him to the hospital. Remove him 4 hours later with the bullet still in him and bring him to detention center for questioning, refusing to tell his family where he is. Apparently he's still there with the bullet in him today, without pain meds, without seeing his family, without seeing counsel, and with ICE doing its own investigation into itself.
